This is *falsetto.* Being able to comfortably sing and enunciate in this register is a gift. Nowadays, brothas sound like cartoon characters w/ auto-tune and try to pass it off as falsetto. You either got it or you don't. And it's as simple as that.

I had it once. When I was a teen I used to impress my friends when I sang this song in perfect "falsetto" unison with Mr Bailey when it came on the radio. No kidding. However, we used to call this falsetto high pitched style of singing a " silver tenor". From many years of smoking I can no longer silver tenor/falsetto like this. But once upon a time it was as easy and effortless to sing like this as breathing air. I used to love when this song came on the radio when I was around others so I could show off. Lol
