Toby Fox was inspired heavily by EarthBound when he made Undertale and Deltarune and I think that its no more evident than the part the starts at 0:16. Basically the entire first half of that little number there is used as a motif in Undertales soundtrack. Listen to "Confession" and you'll draw the similarities

I absolutely love this track for (for the first time in my life) subverting what I had come to expect from failing in a game. Usually, I'd hear the death chime and then a very short non-looping Game Over tune (i.e. Mario, Kirby, Sonic), but this death chime *literally* transitioned so smoothly right into this incredibly somber looping continue/quit track; something I had absolutely not experienced before. Even today, game over tracks haven't opted to function in this direct-transition style (even if the Kirby series has featured looping game over tracks in 64tCS and Mass Attack) and thus, Earthbound's continue/end track still gives me chills even 19 years after first playing the game.
