1:12:30 I actually know EXACTLY why those snakes are there. When he exits the tunnel, there is a mole at the top of the screen that teaches you about the instant win mechanic. The developers deliberately put the snake room right before this mole because they knew that by the time the player gets there, they are gonna be strong enough to instantly kill those snakes. They did this so that the player will know what the mole it talking about, since the mole says something along the lines of "You've probably ran into an enemy and instantly won, right?" The snakes were put in to make sure the player knows what the mole means if they haven't had that happen yet, and even if they did have it happen before, it will put it fresh into the players mind. So no. This isn't a random room with no purpose. Its good game design.

It was one of the eight "My Sanctuary" locations in the game, called Lumine Hall. The walls were filled with a light that projected the lead character's thoughts onto it, so everything sans was thinking was being displayed for everyone, causing him to notice it and react to it and his own self-awareness.

Kazuichi Souda it's pronounced "on-et" just because of how the english language works. it's also just plain difficult to fit the "one" sound into a word other than on the last syllable because the E will almost always automatically get absorbed into the following consonant, changing the sound from "one" to "on". i'm guessing the devs weren't sure how to pronounce it? or they got stumped trying to find a name that could be pronounced with "one" and thought "they can see it written out, good enough"

Many books and interviews with the games creator(s) have confirmed correct pronunciations for many game terms years ago though, and it is "oh-net". Plenty of people pronounce it on-net though due to regional dialect/accents. Some people also call it one-net because I guess they just enjoy being wrong for the fun of it or don't know any better.

Why was this run 45 minutes slower than the same runner's world record? Does RNG account for that much time loss, or is it just because this was for fun?

Terry Miller many reasons. 1: He collected all photos. Takes several extra minutes. 2: The character names need to be 1 letter for RNG manipulation in Onett, which makes the town maaany minutes faster. 3: Earthbound glitchless is a cruel mistress. Something going wrong can easily kill you and randomness is a big factor. The number one skill required to get WR in glitchless is patience because this game can easily turn your run sour.

They were making a joke because of the sound quality being intense due to their headsets. They were playing on the original SNES hardware. The seizure-inducing damage and attack-effects and memory flashback scenes are a dead giveaway. Virtual console looks nothing like that. Also the resets caused a loss of signal instead of a return to a wii u menu.
