Teleport 4 is actually the teleport that’s used in the Fire Spring cutscene when Ness comes back from Magicant.

the reason I think the debug menu is incomprehensible gibberish text is because it was originally written in japanese characters, and there was no text written in it for English because there was no need to, as it was assumed no one would ever actually see it. but some of it is actually comprehensible, and gives us insight into how this was done. specifically, at the party edit screen, we can see that "NS" corrosponds to "Ness". When we consider that Ness' Japanese name is "ネス" (Nesu), we can assume that ネ became N and ス became S. There are some other examples, like "FRINGMN", which is "Flying Man". Flying Man's Japanese name is "フライングマン " (Furainguman), and if you take the first letter of the romanization of each individual character (Fu, Ra, I, N, Gu, Ma, N), we get "FRINGMN" How I believe this works is that the text takes the first letter of the romanization of each character, since the "P" can corrolate to either "ポ" (Po) as in "ポーラ" (Pora, or Paula), but it can also be プ (Pu) as in "プー" (Puu, or Poo) A more interesting example is Picky, who is "PtK-". Why a lowercase T, you might ask? Well, it's surprisingly simple. Picky's Japanese Name is "ピッキー" (Pikkii). ピ (Pi) corresponds to "P" and キ (Ki) corresponds to "K", and the dash (which signifies the lengthening of a vowel sound, usually). Interestingly though, the "ッ" is the small form of the character "ツ" (Tsu). The small "tsu" is typically used to signify the extension of a consonant sound (which is why the romanization has 2 k's, that's how it's usually represented. I presume this small "tsu" turns into a lowercase "t" in the menu. Or, something along the lines of this, anyway. My knowledge of Japanese is very rudimentary, and my romanization is a bit rough, but I think I was able to use the knowledge I have to help inform some people who were wondering why it was like that.

Holy cow, that’s a lot of info! I’ve heard the basics of this (basically just your first paragraph) but everything after that is new to me. It makes a lot of sense though! Fantastic job!

I'm a Japanese and this reason is correct. (and native speakers can read this gibberish text if given clues for context)

This is really comprehensive! Most of this is well known in the PK Hack community, a couple of years ago I made a ROM patch that attempts to translate the debug menu. I feel like a lot of the options are about testing the game, like the option that fills your inventory with sandwiches was probably to test "Oh, your inventory is full" parts of dialogue trees

Thank you for your kind words! I never thought about the reasoning behind a lot of these, but your theory makes a lot of sense.

First song is Burst In Rock ‘n Roll from MOTHER 3 and the second song is the Club Titiboo Theme from MOTHER 3. The song right before the end screen is Heavenly Flight from Dragon Quest 11, and the end screen is the “objectively better” version of the Onett theme that the debug menu makes.

The most consistent way is to kill the party using “TKSyZyUTI” and then selecting KZT or DIY to kill/diamondize the party. This will cause a glitchy game over screen, but once it puts you at your last save the game should run as normal with all of your items and party members.
