What did you use for colouring I was wondering if a kilo or two of praprika would do it

No, it can't be an organic product, it has to be a mineral. Organic products loose their color

Hi..very creative work and video. Thank you for sharing this. I have a doubt..can we use rice husk instead of chopped straw ? What is the difference between using husk and straw

I am wondering if this can be built in the desert- We have dry, rocky dirt and clay would be hard to find. How can this be built in an area with very poor, dry soil?

Forgive me for asking , why don’t you add lime for strength. I’m doing this myself soon, l can’t find an answer.

Don't do it. Lime.works.with concrete but not well with earthen plaster typically. Lime plaster is a whole different beast, but mixing earthen soil with rehydrated lime is a no no in my opinion. Potential reason why: Earthen soil expands and contracts with humidity. Lime and concrete don't. Making mixing either lime or concrete with earthen plaster a no no, as the ingredients are working against eachother instead of in unison. When one expands and the other doesn't, the bond breaks... atleast that's by uneducated perspective. I've tried only a handful of tests mixing earth and lime.together, never with substantial noticable benefits and in fact always the opposite. I could imagine a scenario where you have a highly lime saturated soil that might accept rehydrated lime into a mix for plaster.. But still it's doubtful in my view, as one has been kiln cooked, powderized, slaked and the other is just limestone powder. To help understand look at how commercial lime is manufactured.

I've seen other cob vids call for larger straw. Is the smaller straw in this cob mix because of it being use for flooring?

that's right.
