The underlying messages in this song echo sentiments of what it's like to be a black male psychologically and socially and how inherently out the womb you are conditioned to have inclinations toward certain environments, to not do or say certain things while u maneuver and worm your way through a human ecosystem where you're valued for what you can bring to the table rather than just being at the table. And where your complexion and culture are challenged daily, they don't care if you fold...but when you become liberated from those chains in all the many ways, those who work to oppress fear your progress. Venus and DocDot snapped straight up

@@callanc3925 You clearly misunderstood the analogy which futher confirms that you lack the credibility to really speak on this. 1) I was speaking from the perspective of black men who fit the context, not society as a whole. 2) Being valued with equity as a human being ("just being at the table") has nothing to do with America operating as a meritocracy-- even though that's a questionable take anyway -- because you can't earn your inherent worth as a person. So that 'handouts' rhetoric is tired bruv
@callanc39255 жыл бұрын
@@juburke5862 No member of society as a whole is deserving of being valued for being at the table so why should any specific other people. I said we live in a meritocracy, meaning people who bring more to the table will be valued more highly than those who bring less and that if someone brings absolutely nothing to the table then they shouldnt be valued as highly as someone who brings a lot to the table.

Capital Steez (RIP) was so talented but I sadly can't count him. Then CJ Fly is ok and dessy hinds is ok but overall its just logic, nyck and kirk. Dreamville has Cole (who i think is a bit better than joey), Jid (Never story is 2nd best album this year imo), earthgang is incredible and I can't wait for their 3rd ep o the year and their upcoming album. Bas is really good. Cozz is ok, omen is ok an ari kinda sucks. Like I said, its a toss up but i just prefer cole over joey and i think dreamville is deeper so ima go with dreamville.

The statue at 2:31 is Lady Justice, an allegorical personification of the moral force of judicial systems. The blindfold represents impartiality, however, the dramatic close-up of her face suggests another meaning - being blind to the truth. The sword represents authority . Lady Justice is traditionally depicted with scales in her right hand, however there are no scales present here, just the handle. The scales represent the weighing of evidence, and lack a foundation to signify that evidence should stand on its own. The lack of scales signify that the judicial system convicts Black people without sustainable evidence. The Black man is attempting to tear down justice - not because it is not important, but because it does not exist - at least for Black Americans. Powerful use of symbolism, throughout the whole video. This video is an artwork.
