North Korean Kids Dance - Airang Mass Games

North Korean Mass Games (Arirang) is a " synchronized socialist-realist spectacular, featuring over 100,000 participants in a 90 minute display of gymnastics, dance, acrobatics, and dramatic performance, accompanied by music and other effects, all wrapped in a highly politicized package"
This event occurs 4 times a week during summer months in Prongyang.
This is a slice from Act 3 - Arirang of Happiness. Happy children represent the North Koreans saying that "Children are the Kings of the Country". The backdrop of the child solider says this little boy is dreaming of becoming a general.

In some ways, the backdrop is even more extraordinary than the kids skipping with ropes. It looks to me as if participants are holding colored squares that they change when appropriate in order to create the incredible images, and one can only speculate how a spectacle of this size could even be orchestrated and choreographed. It's a shame that President Trump didn't ask Kim Jung-un to explain how in the letter he received from the dear leader.
