Al, you need to lay a little diagonal in the hammock...it will flatten out a bit and you could maybe make it a little more loose. and to skip the pad, an under quilt will help with insulation on the colder trips

I know your hammock set up is not optimal, but you are supposed to lay down a bit diagonally on it. It gives you more flat laying position, so it's more comfortable for your back.

@@BombproofCraftsman I am trying to say that don't lay in it like it's banana. Throw your feet about 45 angle side from the hammock anchor point and move around until you find comfortable position.

You guys need to put way more water than that in your mre bag. There’s a fill line on the bottom of the bag. Fill it up to there. You need to put about 300 to 500 ml of water (I’m not sure what the exact quantity is.). Next time you’ll.

Chile is a large country where the majority of it is mountainous and desert and snowy landscapes and forests with not many roads etc... 1/4 of the population lives in Santiago... Chile is 2700 miles long... about 90% of the population lives in a narrow strip in the middle probably around a 400 mile zone in the middle of the entire 2700 mile length... my point is this: the Chilean police probably do need mre's because as ive explained.. most of Chile is WILDERNESS.

Hammock tricks? Sure. You're not supposed to lay in them like a folded banana, more supposed to lay in then at a diagonal and it allows your body to lie relatively flat.
