I remember when I was a sophomore at high school, the principal of the school (she no longer is anymore) made an announcement over the intercom about costume day as a part of spirit week: the students were not allowed to dress up as a clown for that day. They did this to avoid confusion between a student clown and a real killer clown, and perhaps from causing panic and disorder in the school among students and staff members. Man those were crazy times.
