As a New Orleans Resident, We needed this alert. The water was up to my kneecaps in my neighborhood, and it was bad even it areas that weren’t really below sea level. The entire city was flooded. If you’re wondering why the city flooded so badly, ask the SWBNO.

This was also issued in a few other areas in southern Louisiana. I was coming back from Arkansas and then I get a notification that were in a flash flood emergency.
