As scary as this is, those EAS scenario creators would go crazy for something like this.

This is "just" a warehouse fire from a company called BioLab but this has nothing to do with a laboratory accident. Possibly due to concerns of chlorine gas release because it has already been a thing at a warehouse fire at the exact same company in 2020. The way it's worded in the alert and the lack of detail in the initial alert make it very misleading though.

Yeah, I looked on my phone when I had awakened to see that first alert, it certainly woke me up lol

"Lab incident"? Sounds like Wuhan all over again! 😜
Creepy alert. Idk something about a lab incident just makes it even creepier for some reason.

what even happened
@moipaslui292416 сағат бұрын
Warehouse fire at a pool and spa treatment products manufacturer. A previous fire here had released chlorine gas so I imagine that's what caused the shelter in place.
Those lab incidents are scary and crazy. AND RARE TOO!

Wow. That’s scary. I think I’d be more scared of that than a tornado warning.

Transcript: -stations and cable systems of your area. EAS equipment that can quickly warn you during emergencies is being tested. If this had been an actual emergency, such as a tornado, flood, evacuation, toxic release, or any emergency that you, the public should be timely alerted, official messages would have followed the alert tone. This station serves as a vital part of the Louisiana state EAS. This concludes this test of the EAS.

As a New Orleans Resident, We needed this alert. The water was up to my kneecaps in my neighborhood, and it was bad even it areas that weren’t really below sea level. The entire city was flooded. If you’re wondering why the city flooded so badly, ask the SWBNO.

A levee is like a dam, right? So, if it fails, it'll flood the surrounding areas like a dam would if it were to fail, yeah?
@VehicularVortex10 күн бұрын
In a way, yes. Dams and levees both hold back water, but dams are much more sophisticated in their purpose. But yes, a levee failure would cause severe flooding, as described in this alert.
