Nuclear War is a very scary phenomenon we have to worry about alot of the time.
Thankfully we have never been in a Nuclear War.
But what if that all changed? And we succumbed to Nuclear Annihilation?

In this scenario, since there’s no basement in my house, I don’t know of any fallout shelters in my neighborhood. The subways in my community are elevated. On top of that, there’s not 1 battery operated radio in my house. With 5-10 minutes until an inbound missile strike. I’d just go sit on my porch and watch the show. I’d sit there and stop worrying and love the thermal nuclear bomb.☮️

Be aware that even though WW3 tensions are spiking up a bit, it's still extremely unlikely for it to happen. Nuclear war has happened before, but not as severe as one that could occur in the present day. But don't panic, it's not gonna happen. The world can't afford it to happen.

why woulds the US only lanuch 20 missiles, the US knows to, use them or lose them . . . plain and simple and that would be at least 800 missiles from the continental USA. not to mention the subs and aircraft.. we would retaliate with 1000s.

They may lose hundreds of missiles, but if this was real nuclear war - if we and our allied Nations were on the receiving end of a first strike initiated by non-allied Nations - they might not have had adequate warning to launch the rest. On the other hand, I believe there are such things as automated retaliatory launches, if they should still function post-detonation.

You got a major detail or two wrong. Primary Entry Point system is now the National Public Warning System, and the Emergency Action Notification has been changed to National Emergency Message although they still use EAN as the SAME event code for EAS activation. I'd redo this scenario with these corrections. Also the EAS would NEVER say "Global Crisis" or "Global Emergency".
