EAS Story: The Asteroid

It’s time for the second story!
This one was one I thought up of after uploading the first one, so I decided to write it with this format!
(Again, valid tones, I’m not responsible for what happens due to misuse. That’s your problem, not mine.)

Okay, so I’m going to clear this up right now, because I’ve been receiving a lot of comments about it. Why does the screen say “National Alert”, instead of “Global Alert”? I was told from my State of Emergency video, that a “Global Alert” screen doesn’t exist. Luckily, I’m still able to use the “National Alert” screen while still using the audio for a global emergency. Plus, it’s more realistic. I understand that some of you want me to put “Global Alert”, but that screen will no longer be used. Also, you could’ve looked at replies to comments asking that same question, which would’ve stopped you from asking. Please, stop asking. I don’t want to answer this question so many more times. Hopefully, this cleared everything up! Hope you’ll enjoy my future scenarios! :)

This is one of those rare EAS scenarios that has a very positive ending. No widespread destruction, no extinction event, just an alien civilization testing humanity to see if they are worthy of an alliance. It's unusual, but that's why this was worth a watch. Good job, PhoenixFire.

This is very different from other EAS scenarios that I've seen. Most of them see the planet become scarred by the events that have happened, but here, Earth ended up benefiting from this event in the long term. Most scenarios involving aliens portray them as violent, senseless beings that wish to erase us off the face of the Earth, but you did something I had never seen in an EAS scenario before. You portrayed these aliens as humble lifeforms that just wanted to find intelligent life, and they've shown no harm. As such, the aliens ended up making our planet a better place, as their technology has allowed us to solve problems like climate change. Their technology would have also improved our quality of life, putting an end to issues like poverty and the refugee crisis. And with the aliens helping us in our spacefaring technology, we would be more able to plot our course to the stars, and to learn more about the cosmos. You have gained my respect, and I would like to say: keep up the good work.

Pamplin, Virginia...holy shit, that's less than an hour from where I grew up. Minor quibble: Pamplin is a tiny town just east of Appomattox. The TV stations that serve it would be the one in Lynchburg, or possibly Richmond. There is no Pamplin market for TV unless it's some dude in his shed with a homemade low-power transmitter. :)
