EAS Test - Strange RWT - 11:05 AM 6/15/2012

I'm not exactly sure why this message keeps popping up. It had activated at about 11:05am for the past 5 days. #BlameThePlantBoard

The RWT shown should've been only received by the broadcasters and not the viewers. FEMA normally sends out a Required Weekly Test at random days of the week (or every day) for all the US time zones via IPAWS (hence the "IPAWSCAP" sender ID.)

That's why i recognize the design of the on-screen menu at 0:31. I assume you recorded this via the DVR in the DCH6416. How did you off-load it to your computer? Did you plug in a flash drive into the DCH port and follow on-screen instructions?

On mine, it switches to ESPN before an alert. i saw it at 2:30 AM when i was watching american dad on Adult Swim, it popped up during the ending credits

JoshCraver9000 Once I was watching Rick and Morty at 12 AM and then an Amber alert came on for a kid who got abducted in my county. It also switched to ESPN.

why are the beginning tones longer than usual

The more counties or areas involved in an EAS message, the longer the beginning tones. Those tones are data bursts containing that information.
