Absolutely gorgeous! I have a Serape blanket and have seen many. I was an exchange student in Mexico for a very short time while in high school. I didn't see a lot of Serape designs in the town where I lived, I think it's more for tourists, but I love Serape!
@DuncanCustomAirbrush2 жыл бұрын
Ahh interesting!
@leilacanturojas96582 жыл бұрын
No it’s not only for tourists! They hold deep historical significance which also doubles as works of art in the region they are made. A serape is also garment for all occasions While the serape got its start as a garment for farm laborers, it is widely been used amongst many different social classes, including Mexican nobles who would drape colorful serapes over their shoulders while attending social events. The multi-function serape has long been used for many different purposes, including; a place to sit down, sleeping mat, pillow, shoulder wrap, poncho, horse blanket, room divider, doorway cover, furniture throw, table cloth, window treatment, rug, wall hanging, and more.
@brokenlegvinylbysherrie57472 жыл бұрын
@@leilacanturojas9658 I do know the historical significance and live the history. My opinion, based on my experience, is they're more for tourists now... That could be different based on which state in Mexico, I lived in Navajoa, Sonora.
@leilacanturojas96582 жыл бұрын
@@brokenlegvinylbysherrie5747 many tourists buy them because they look cool but don’t realize the significance & the painstaking work that goes into them. They are marketed towards tourists to make a sell, like anything else. In Mexico & outside of Mexico they still hold meaning & history. They are not solely made for tourists. Any Mexican person (inside or outside of Mexico like myself) value them & dislike the misappropriation that people do with them.
