This is genius. I think if you held your hand over the drink, people may think it will end up inside the drink and be even more surprised when it appears under the cup. You could even try to act like you are sneaking it around the person's hand covering the drink, but only putting it through the back of their hand, away from their fingers. Just some ideas. I love it when things like this, inspires lots of ideas.

As a magician, I feel almost cheated after all the practice I've put into coin retention! 😂
@Sam_on_YouTube6 жыл бұрын
Welly Saikat You can combine them in a single trick to make it more impressive. Prove there is no tape and use classic palm in one part and prove you aren't doing classic palm but instead use tape in another. That way, people will think you couldn't be doing either one and your hard work isn't wasted.
@Sam_on_YouTube6 жыл бұрын
Here's the beginnings of how you could do it: Borrow the coin and have it signed (proving there's no tape). Use a retention pass into a hand that already has a second coin taped to the palm so you can switch the coin. Now while people are distracted following the visible coin, pull a sealed envelope out of your pocket, but with a slit cut into it. Slip the coin inside. Then perform the rest of the trick as shown. Tear open the envelope slowly and clearly, tearing off the part with the slit to get rid of it, and show let the person remove the original signed coin themselves.

I think important importantly on this one something that wasn't mentioned but would help the trick massively (Nate did it) is to hold your hand with the 'coin' in it over the glass and then it looks like the coin fell from your hand, through their hand and then under the glass. Don't say anything along those lines but it just helps reinforce the trick I think.

yeah, I don't really think it's any more effective than many basic vanishes that don't require tape. Sticking it to your pant leg seems like a pretty good risk as well. And, here's a tip for beginners... No matter how you do your vanish, take some time before you ditch the coin. Don't do the move and then right away put your hand under the table or down by your leg or try to ditch it. Sure, sometimes it's the right way to go but you have to feel the vibe. If you are nervous and rush they will feel it.

Might even be more convincing to do a 3 coin trick: 1st coin is taped to your hand 2nd coin is free in your hand 3rd coin is under the glass Use the sound of the 2 coins to your advantage as you have them both in your hand clinking together, then they clink together again when you do the transfer, only one falls into the other hand. Say the magic words, ditch the taped coin, free coin stays in your second hand while the other "vanishes" and appears under the glass.
@breakfast20936 жыл бұрын
7:08. It might actually be better with a clear drink because the liquid would refract the light, making it invisible until you lift up the glass.

It's funny, I was looking at his right hand during the first pass of the trick and could tell something was up. Are you sure this is how open source works? Looks more like closed beta preorder exclusive to me.
@NateStaniforth6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I probably got the terminology wrong. Closed beta preorder exclusive, then?
@krotenschemel85586 жыл бұрын
Let's go through it in detail. "Open" generally means everyone can participate with minimal barrier to entry and especially no without paying for it - there might be a technical neccessity, like to registrate an account somewhere, but that's it. If you restrict the entry by money or random choice, it's "closed". "Open source" even refers to that everyone can get and alter the essentials of the product in question and it consequently removes the possibility of the product to ever be "completed". It's also closely related to licencing, so you should be careful here as you might lose rights to your trick if you advertise it as "open source". I'm not a lawyer, I'm just saying that can be a problem. "Preoder exclusive" refers to stuff you can only get through preordering, so that's accurate in this case. You can also refer to a "preorder bonus", it's more or less the same. Now "beta" is a bit blurry as it get's tossed around a lot. In software development, there's pre-alpha, which is anything before and alpha state. Alpha which means that certain features work, but the whole product doesn't yet come together. Beta means the state where the assets work and have been combined, yet the procuct isn't finished due to bugs and balancing stuff and so on. To avoid those specifics, the term "early access" was established, which just refers to letting people in before the product is complete. So the best thing to say would be: "As an exclusive preorder bonus, you get early access to the trick." if you want to draw the software parallel. It's just important to avoid the open source statement for legal reasons. In this case, there's no harm done as Brian perfectly explains what he means. But if you have a blank statement like "this trick is open source" somewhere - that's trouble.

Okay so it's not how I thought he did it immediately but it's basically the same he didn't palm the coin he stuck it down ahahah wouldn't be that hard to palm as a naturally curved hand creates a pocket about 10p/quarter size
