You'll find the "USAF HF Global Communications System" fun. It can be found at 11.175 Mhz USB as its calling freq. I like hearing the assigned call signs of the operators (some if which are airborne while on the air, you can hear sounds of the plane in the background)

One thing you guys had the opportunity to touch on and didn't was the serving temperature of the beer. As the temp of the beer does make an enormous difference in the taste. Normally a pilsner is best super cold, while as you went down the line to darker and fuller beers, those are better at a warmer temp. The last beer shown, I actually had the privilege to drink a couple Bourbon County Stout's. They first severed it strait out of the fridge. It was horrible. I said hold that next bottle on the counter for at least an hour, then open it. It was AMAZING served on the just cooler than room temp side. Serving temperature is probably one of the most important characteristics to know when drinking a "proper" a beer. Knowing which should be super cold to which is better warmer is critical.

They’re higher video quality & have the old ads removed. I still get confused & have to think about it for a while when they don’t say that’s what it is, though. I remember this 1 well enough to know it’s a re-upload.

@2:13 Ackshually... UTC = Coordinated Universal Time (CUT) or in french Temps Universel Coordonné (TUC) which was then "settled" in UTC as a compromise 😅

When I was a kid, I stayed up until all hours of the night surfing shortwave channels. We had a metal bunk, and I used to lean the ghetto blaster's antenna against one of the metal legs to greatly increase the reach.

starting to think number stations are top secret because theyre used to create crypto keys via "weather patterns". i know you can get different power levels based on atmospheric conditions, and the military has TONS of weather monitors, just seems like it may be part of the algorithm in the creation since it can be something that is set and forgot about, maybe needs to be fueled every so often. the transmit stations are also usually secure facilities, i think some are military, but prob all some sort of government. a lot of stuff you're listening to may have been a bouncing frequency which appears to have a bandwidth it really doesn't. finding signals is easy, decoding is a whole field of its own. theres ppl that can tell you the equipment being used based on the waveform

The first time you actually hear one on your radio, rather than a recording, it is spooky. Especially knowing that you are hearing it at the same time an agent is getting instructions. Pryom website will tell you when the next broadcast might occur, although not all of them are strong enough to be picked up all over the world.

The real twist is that it started on Scam Nation! The biggest numbers we got were when we were posting 4 times a week: Scam school remix on mondays, scam school on wednesdays. Modern Rogue thursdays, and behind the scam Fridays. I'm trying to nudge us back to those days, but there's a lot of cleaning up to do.

Hey Brian and Jason, LOVED this video, ticks a fair few of my boxes! For info, there are tons of free-to-use online receivers - also directories of them so you can choose one in a suitable location for what you're trying to receive. As well as the shortwave bands, there are also ones that cover VHF, UHF, and even into the gigahertz. It's an awesome pool of resources for anyone that's fascinated by radio but don't have the kit and/or can't put up antennas. Happy New Year to you and your families.
