What does the skin end up feeling like after using this soap? I bought a soap base that was very drying and left my skin feeling 'squeaky clean' (which I didn't want) and I was wondering if this recipe might be a good replacement? Does the skin feel moisturized or stripped?

Hi, I tried this wonderful recipe, however, my mixture started going solid and harden quite quickly. It did not stay fluid like yours. Did I mix it too far? Was my lye mixture too cold, it was 57* C.

Wonderful video. I tried this and it turned out perfect. Love the lather. I stored it in a container. A few days later, though, I see small spots at the bottom. I'd attach a pic if I could. Could this be due to sorbitol or stearic acid? CP soaps have stearic acid spots, so could that be the reason? How do I prevent this?

This is completely normal and part of the curing process- spots will often appear as the soap changes from a hard solid to a soft shave soap, which is more of a thick, cream-based recipe. If you used 100% KOH, except a few spots during the first few weeks and then a uniform appearance after the cure!

@@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP thanks so much for replying. The spots I noticed have branch like structures. Could be due to high stearic acid. It's increasing in number as the soap cures as well. I guess including some colour like titanium dioxide will help me mask it. I have seen this happen when I made melt and pour bases from scratch as well. Probably due to stearic or sorbitol

Hi . I'm doing it the same way, but it's solid, not liquid. where am ı doing wrong. Glycerin and super fat solidify when I add.

There could be many different reasons, but if your additives are cold when adding, they may cause the soap to cool and begin to harden. You would have to provide more information.
