Definitely a bit confusing when you're use to dumping it all in a crock pot and waiting. Lol. Will watch a few more time and try it. I like the concept of not waiting forever.

Hello, thanks for the very interesting video. If I want to replace the water with mango juice. First I freeze the mango juice and then add the KOH and caustic soda. But doesn't the bleach get too cold with this procedure? First of all, Thanks

Wonderfully creamy looking soap. Kind of found myself wishing you would have put up on the screen the name of the additives as you added them or said it. I noticed you didn't need a low temperature for sodium lactate? I applaud this method as I don't have a slow cooker (only InstaPot and definitely will not use that). Glad I found this. Always wanted to try hot process.

We don't quite have the skills or knowledge to do this yet, but it is certainly something we can look into for the future. We are soap makers, not the best cinematographers or video editors, although I would say that they are getting better over time! You do not need to use sodium lactate at a lower temperature and the fact that you don’t need a crockpot to make hot process soap is certainly a bonus! We hope you enjoyed the video and if you try out HTHP, be sure to share your experience! -Susan @ UG2SOAP

How are you maintaining the high temperature without a crockpot or some other heat source? I am assuming hot oils combined with lye solution is enough to maintain temp. Thanks!
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP 4 жыл бұрын
You are correct! The starting temperature of our HTHP oils is usually between 215-220F. The high heat energy combined with continuous mixing, fatty acid blends that quickly saponify, additives that accelerate the reaction rate, and more, produce a rapid saponification reaction that does not require a prolonged application of an external heat source.

Hi- This was one of the videos we made when we were learning how to make videos so we didn't know how to include clear and successful audio at the time. We have since began adding audio, so we will continue to do this in the future! The ingredients are listed in the video information! If you are a beginner to soap making, we really recommend getting your copy of The Ultimate Guide to Hot Process Soap for more information and the complete how-to guide for soap making and recipe formulating! -Anthony UG2SOAP

What colour would you expect the finished soap to be?? I made this yesterday and it’s a dusky pink colour!
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP 2 жыл бұрын
Certain coconut oil brands will create soap that has a pink tint because of a chemical in coconut oil called polyphenol oxidase. The heat and alkalnity in hot process soap making accelerate oxidation. I have seen this range from light pink to a deep magenta color. While this isn't a common occurrence and I would expect the final result to be more light cream colored to a light tan, this would be my guess on what happened! You can learn more about pink hues and polyphenol oxidase in coconuts by searching "pink coconut water/oil" on Google.

Hot process soap making is a method of saponification that uses heat to accelerate the reaction rate. This is a video of a process we call HTHP or High Temperature Hot Process, which uses the heat from the oils, in conjunction with continuous mixing and chemical additives, to quickly and easily make beautiful hot process soap- sans crockpot!

Although we happily share some of our recipes and videos, the knowledge, education and experience gained from reading, completing and practicing the materials in our books far surpasses any 10 minute KZbin video. Nowhere else on the internet, books, or in the world can you learn all of the same information in one place. Just because we share a few recipes doesn't mean your investment and support in UG2HP and Eat-Sleep-Soap doesn't make a difference- both for you and for local communities in need!
