@@christinerameau885 you can order a complete 12 x 16 shed as a kit. No math. Just read the plans and nail it together. But if do not want order a kit. Then Math is necessary to measure and build it.

I'm building a 600 square foot shop- and know nothing about roof rafters or how to design them, i have wached about 15 you tubes on the subject all say the same thing, follow these very simple math equations and you will know how to cut a roof rafter, well i say to them bull hunky. i was starting to pull out what small amount of hair from my head that i have left when i said i will try this vid but it's the last one before i call in a professional. Thank you thank you thank you. i finally get it and i feel very confident now that i can do this. the world needs more teachers like you,

Super! I always love to figure things like these on the slab somewhere first with live sizes. Then just step back with the framing from the edge of a thickness of plywood wall sheeting and then you don't need to fuss with the roof, since it's ready to go to be installed fast being precut.

GREAT !!! I love how simple it can be made, ... leaving all those whom invest tons of money into tools out to dry... meaning... it's not as important to have all the fancy tools as one might think... just need saws, pythogaerom theorem, calculator pencil, paper or something to write on like wood to make note and marks and measuring tape, maybe chalk line... (clear water hose ends with fluid in them for leveling) ... that is all you need, and most important IDEA of what you want to do and how to do it studying these youtube videos really helps, one really has giant advantage that all the previous generations of builders never had... youtube is a coach is like having GPS maps in your car is helpful to all whom previously used paper maps and counting freeway exits to your destination for turn off connecting roads on the way to somewhere else... love youtube and everyone taking the time to teach, many many thanks! -tibor

I love your videos but I'm just trying to put it in practical application with my brain power. I am actually trying to put my pickup truck in my trailer undercover and I am looking to make a 20 ft x 20ft shed type building with no front doors at this moment. I'm just looking to back in my trailer and my truck to be under roof and my riding tractor in my backyard. I was thinking about just having a company deliver enough gravel to give me a base to drive my vehicle on. I did want to give it three sides and a roof and I am trying to decide between making trusses or just doing this ridge board with 10 ft Rafters on each side. I would like to not have any wood coming down from the middle to the ground. I was thinking of putting up four by fours in the four corners and one in the middle on each side but I wanted to have an open area in the center

one time i went to wooden boat building school where the craftsmen used a layout method called "lofting" to lay out all the curves to build a boat - all laid out on the floor. this reminds me of that. thanks for sharing.
