You can add another part of perlite, or pumice instead of brick chips. Generally, brick chips are not commonly available. I mainly broke a brick into small pieces and used it to prepare the soil😅😅

Hi! Wanted to try this method of rooting pieces of my Mother's Christmas Cactus. You talk about putting a piece of plastic over the glass. I've tried plastic wrap and that is not working, so could point me in the right direction of what kind of plastic wrap you used? Thank you so much!

Clear plastic wrap will work. That’s what I used. It did take more than a week for rooting to begin, though (like 3 weeks).
