Everyone's hair is different. I haven't used shampoo in my regimen for the last 8 months and my scalp is fine. I don't get build up, don't deal with itchiness etc. this is what works for me.

I cowash religiously and have never experienced buildup or scalp issues. All shampoos, including sulfate free and vegan ones, strip my hair, even with a pre-poo. I know it's so hard for everyone to believe but it is definitely possible to maintain a healthy hair regimen without shampoo.

+Norree C omg thank you!! lol I didn't think it was that big of a deal lol even my mom has been doing it for years, I don't think she's even touched shampoo the last 4-5 years of her hair journey. She has fine 3a/b curls. Her scalp is fine. It just depends on the person everyone's different ☺️

I know people have different hair and textures and one scalp can differ from another. But my question and I'm sure many have asked this too, How does Cowashing get rid of build up. And if one does not get build up, is one's scalp truly Cleansed and Cleaned? I've been struggling with that. My hair is Low Porosity and I have fine thin hair, Itchy scalp but also Oily too... I have too many issues to just CoWash. And is the Aussie a Real Cowash or Using just any conditioner as a Cowash Good for one's Hair and Scalp?
@HazelGoddesss
@HazelGoddesss 7 жыл бұрын
Co washing is conditioner washing. You can use regular conditioners or co wash products, but they are the same to me. Although some cowash products are specifically for cleansing. Cowashing works for me because shampoos dry my hair out. I only use one product when I style my hair so when it's time to wash, there's no build up. You can cowash and shampoo. Just alternate the week you do it or simply use shampoo. Now when I say I don't get build up I don't mean my scalp is squeaky clean I'm just saying it's light enough to be scrubbed away with just a conditioner.

If you have low porosity hair and your conditioner has silicones, are you concerned that your hair wont dry out over time because of the coating silicones can give?
@HazelGoddesss
@HazelGoddesss 7 жыл бұрын
No. Haven't noticed anything negative happen with my hair. But I've always been a cowash person. Only tried shampoo for a few months.

Does it make sense to deep condition after shampoo and then after use your regular conditioner?
@sayshabroussard4537
@sayshabroussard4537 7 жыл бұрын
Zoe Omozuwa yes ! Whatever works for you ! I've been conditioning, shampooing, then DEEP conditioning ! That way, the shampoo doesn't strip all of your oils from your hair ! My hair has been more shiny, soft, & moisturized !!!
@WaterBabyKendra
@WaterBabyKendra 7 жыл бұрын
I shampoo, deep condition, then use regular conditioner for past 7 months and it's been working great for me. I like to shampoo my hair right before the deep conditioner so I can get as much of the deep conditioner into my hair as possbile! lol But as everyone says everyone's hair is different so test it out and see

I condition, shampoo, then deep condition...conditioning first is my "pre poo" step and has been working amazing
@kaylaollivierre6952
@kaylaollivierre6952 7 жыл бұрын
Zoe Omozuwa yep shampoo helps raise the hairs cuticles so when you deep condition after you get the most benefits from it. Then you can follow up with a regular conditioner if you want to help seal the hairs cuticles.
