Randy loved the new series, I think this is a good format to expand on.

Good video Randy and thank you for highlighting the use of suppressors!!!! I absolutely love hunting with mine and it reduces the recoil so much that my wife was able to shoot my 300 wm this season. She harvested a buck and a bull both at around 300 yards.

@ It’s impressive how effective they are at reducing recoil and quieting the shot. I plan to buy a couple more in the next few years so my whole family can hunt with them.

@@rowdyhoundsman shot my muley this season from 240 Actually saw the impact through the scope. I definitely liked it at the range, but was more impressed in the field

How, if at all, does cleaning a suppressor meant for centerfire differ from a suppressor meant for the notoriously dirty .22lr?
@ndhunter62110 күн бұрын
The big difference is most rimfire suppressors are user serviceable ie you can take them apart and pull the baffles out of it to clean them. A good majority of centerfire suppressors don't come apart although some do like the banish line or the huxwrx ventum.

FYI a trick I learned from basic training, just for removing carbon buildup we used shaving cream and showered with rifles and cleaned. Completely removed carbon buildup and passed armorers inspection every time.

Never heard of that method, but it sounds like something to try.

I throw mine in my sonic cleaner with warm water and a little bit of simple green then blow it out with my air hose. Gets it clean and doesn't hurt the finish on mine.

Good trick. I might try that.

Oh Randy, cleaning suppressors but no scope cleaning techniques.
@Fresh_Tracks10 күн бұрын
I’ve never had to clean a scope.

@Fresh_Tracks well you need to call your sponsors over at Leupold and ask them how because that new generation of aluma covers that are sending out now are horrible. The first day I switched them out from my buttler creeks those things popped open and I had water spots. Odd that I never had this problem before . With the old medallion ones made in the USA but these ones with the stickers made in Bangladesh or wherever that's not the USA are horrible. Side note my Newberg EBS is gonna see some elk blood in the next week or 2.

There’s no way you’re shooting enough ammo through a silencer with a bolt action to warrant cleaning it .

Agree.

Wow. This is terrible advice !

Well, what’s the right answer then? I’ll pass your answer on to the engineers I know who design and build suppressors.
