I'm the same way, and where I recently messed up is by trying to make it more natural. Don't do this man trust me. My line is naturally oval shaped. I tried to make it a straight line and it came out so horrible that I'm glad no one had to see it but me. Everytime I go to a barber they mess me up too because they're used to cutting straighter lines. So I'd rather do it myself and have it come out messed up than to have a barber do it for a price and it still comes out the same way. I'm getting better though. From now on I'm just keeping the natural shape and making both sides even. I'm not trying to make it striaght anymore.
