Hello, thank you for this helpful video, very clear on how to save our plants. Just one question though: do we water them (spray water on them) everyday?
@GardeningUpbeat10 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply..No, please don't do that or else they would rot. You can do one thing - water thoroughly first time. After that wait and let the complete media dry out (even if it is 80-100% dry, there won't be any issue). Then water again well. Repeat the same cycle until they don't produce new growths. Once you are able to see new growths, you can slowly increase watering frequency. But then again, please note that they are succulent. So, need water very less frequently. All the best!

@Mary Frances, Sorry for the late reply :-( We can water on the leaves, no issue. Thk u for sharing this info, I've just today bought a nice Kalanchoe plant with buds and flowers on it. My doubt here is, since it is in a small pot do I need to transplant in into a bigger pot. Pls advise. Thks.
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Flavia Chauhan, Most welcome and thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it :-) Since it already has buds and flowers, it's not going to produce similar buds in the same season as they bloom mostly once in a season. Once all buds are bloomed, it's almost going to stop producing new buds again. But sometimes, they do..but not like first time. So, it's okay even if you don't repot into a bigger pot. But if you want to keep the plant for next year and want it it grow much better, then you can repot :-) Good luck :-) Here I have a complete detailed video on Kalanchoe - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5-UiIuEmtuheqM

Hi, great video. Hope to follow your method to propagate my plant. Btw, I have 2 questions: 1) Should the cuttings and leaves be left to callous 1st before planting 2) How often should the cuttings be watered, ie should the soil be moist always
@dana102083 Жыл бұрын
Callousness is always advised for succulents (that I'm aware of). I always propagate eith dry mix for 2 weeks and check if tlany roots started. Only then do I give a little spray of water. Every week and mostly.100% success. I live in a dry climate in canada. I do itnin north window so excess moisture won't evaporate..and nor should you put cuttings in bright light. I haven't don't kalanchoe though and am callousing today and will probably plant tomorrow.

Hi, great video. Just curious if Kalanchoe can grow in room light? and, if it would bloom and grow healthier indoor or outdoors from sept and onwards?
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Nura Shahid, Thank you for your feedback, appreciate it :-) It depends on your plant actually..if it already has buds, then definitely you can keep indoor in bright light and it's going to complete it's blooming cycle. But if the plant is really small at this stage, then it would be difficult. If possible, plz keep outside and when you see the buds, bring it indoor if you like. Anyway, at the blooming time, direct sunlight is not preferred as they burn the flower petals. @GardeningUpbeat3 жыл бұрын
@vatsala bhandarkar, Since you are already using Succulent soil mix from Trustbasket, there is no need to add anything to the soil mix. While propagating, we need to water very lightly and Plz avoid keeping in too much direct Sunlight. Morning 1-2 hours fine but that would also depends on temperature. In Winter, it's fine but in Summer, better to keep in bright area at least for initial 15-20 days. If the leaves are droopy, more likely they are starting to rot and this happens because of more water and more amount of direct sunlight. If we provide more intense sunlight, the leaves would start to dry before even it get any chance to produce roots. Hope, that helps. Thank you!

@GardeningUpbeat3 жыл бұрын
@Criss Martinez, Glad you liked it and thank you very much for your words, much appreciated! Yes, I dipped them in the honey. Even if you are using crystalized honey, there is no any issue. You can easily melt them and there are 2 easy procedures - [And these are from tipnut.com/crystallized-honey/ ] (heat gently to avoid damaging the honey) 1. Place jar in a pot of warm water, set heat to medium-low and stir until crystals dissolve. You can also place the jar in a pot of hot water and leave it alone until it liquefies (not resting on heated element). 2. Quick Fix: You could also heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir well, allow to cool for 20 seconds then heat again for 30 seconds (if there are still granules needing to be dissolved). Stir again and cool as noted before reheating (if required). I hope that helps and if you have any questions, please let me know. Good luck :-)

Before watering, let the soil dry out completely (it may take many days like 7-10) and then water thoroughly. You really don't have to worry about not watering for 7-10 days as all succulents need very very less frequent watering. In most cases, succulents die because of over-watering, not under-watering.
