Dude. Finally a video i can understand. This is all new to me and it can be a bit confusing. I love that you give practical application and dont talk over my head. Also as soon as i started to say to myself -wait, he just mentioned a word im not familiar with- immediately afterwards you have a vid pop up in the corner answering my question. Nice work 👍 thank you 🙂

Great video friend! Been looking around for some helpful videos for kraken and this is perfect. Looking forward to new videos! One question: when you bought the ADA and where your buying crypto, is it money from the account? I just realized there's fees with credit card so I have to transfer money to the kraken account to have minimum fees?

Hey! So sorry for the delay, had some family matters come up! Hope you're doing well. Yes, money from the account, you'll want to transfer money from a bank into Kraken for the lowest fees, credit cards are usually the worst at any brokerage due to the added fees. Hope that helps! If you have more questions fee free to reach out! 🙂

Ok soo...after you set up a trade do you just walk away from the computer/put away your phone and wait for a notification that it's over or do you sit and watch the screen like a Kentucky Derby race? Do you set up more trades right after? How long do these trades/exchanges last?
@BrianLogen
@BrianLogen Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Great question! Yes, after I put on a trade with a stop loss attached I just forget it until it executes and I get the notification. At that point I just monitor it to see if I need to move my stop up if it makes a big move one day etc. If I have more capital to spend and other opportunities I've identified I would definitely place more trades on other coins / stocks. When you place your order if you choose GTC (Good 'till cancelled) the order will stay active until it executes or you cancel it. You do need to check with your exchange, some will cancel after 180 days if it never executes or you don't cancel it. Hope that helps! 🙂

@BrianLogen Thanks, that was extremely clarifying! 👍 Last question though: Is this the same type of activity as trading stocks? I watch a few crypto traders on KZbin and it always seems like they're watching the trade like a basketball game and looking to close it or whatever they do when trading. I just want to make sure I understand the actual activity of trading and I want to know if the actual act is the same or different as trading forex, stocks, crypto etc.?

So the mechanics of trading are the same. Meaning the different types of buy and sell orders. Having bid and ask spreads between buyers and sellers etc. What your trading is different - stocks your technically buying a small proportion of the actual company, forex is currency, crypto from a tax perspective is like a stock (short term and long term capital gains), but what you are trading is an intangible asset. When you buy say, BTC (Bitcoin) you actually now own BTC, you've exchanged dollar (fiat currency) for digital currency. At that point you can use your BTC to make purchases online at select merchants etc. The price of that BTC will fluctuate relative to the dollar or fiat currency. You only experience a gain or loss when you change your BTC back into dollars. Just like stocks your broker calculates your cost basis on the initial price you paid for your Bitcoin. As far as movement in price, crypto has proven to be much more volatile than stocks ( more ups and down and in greater magnitude) so that's something to be aware of. Also - like penny stocks, there are crypto you can own that have little to no trading volume and then those that are highly liquid and tradable. Does that help? 🙂

Great video. It appears to me that staking has been removed from Kraken. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. If there's any more information on this, please direct me to it.

I have a question? Is coinbase pro a good wallet, or should I get something like arculus?
@BrianLogen
@BrianLogen Жыл бұрын
Coinbase has a separate hot wallet that is pretty secure (you can search it in the app store). If you keep your coins on coinbase or coinbase pro, those are stored on the exchange which is the least secure location - but also the most convenient for trading. Hope that helps! Happy New Year

Hi on the kraken pro staking it has a percentage value which is called 'projection' what does this mean?
@BrianLogen
@BrianLogen 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm not seeing the specific text of 'projected', is that on the desktop or mobile version. My guess / understanding is that staking rates are not fixed and vary with supply and demand for each coin so Kraken does it's best to estimate what your staking reward rate will be, but can't guarantee that you'll get that rate for the long term. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have more questions or if I can help further. Sorry for the delay!
@00Mass00
@00Mass00 2 жыл бұрын
@@BrianLogen Thanks for the reply! It is on desktop only. It let's you fill in certain values which affects the staking rewards over a longer period. I have noticed the rewards vary quite a lot but I like this over the binance staking.
