Replay the strangers and freaks mission "target practice" and drive to fort zancudo. Even though cletus will be 4km away from you, the mission wont be failed. In the mission, wanted levels are turned off and the cops wont chase you if you break into fort zancudo and steal the jet. Enjoy. (Oh and dont kill people cause that will fail the mission)

People read this please If you able to get the jet out from zancudo even if you get hit it doesn't matter. All you have to do is take the jet (damaged jet) away from zancudo then pull out your phone and save it. After you do that. Close the game and start over then you can see the jet will be fixed itself trust me it work.

THIS is the answer! Jeez.... all these comments about "look behind you" and "stay low." No matter what I do, I get hit with a missle the moment I lift off the ground, not even high enough to clear the fence. Those tips are outdated as of 2022. BUT THIS WORKS! Quick-saving on your phone while you're still in the Lazer, then loading that save (no reboot necessary) gives you a brand new, damage-free Lazer. Score! Thanks for this!

A faster way to get on the jet i found is to instead ofmpressing the button to get in is to press the jump/climb button against it. It goes much faster. And when you're in the air, pull off some crazy Ace Combat maneuvers. And when you get the jet, fly really low.

That's the pilot running away 5:04 and the reason you made it. The base instantly scrambles an ace fighter, 3 deadly accurate tanks, and twin blade helicopter on break in. The fighter will almost always missile your plane from above around the fence line, looking behind won't help. He could not do it this time because you had his plane. You must get in and out fight free, any engagement and you should just retry. Even when using invincibility cheat they will keep killing the jet every time if you don't snatch and grab out as fast as possible. Using the runway jet works because you take out the ace pilot who gets you most of the time. The base knows why you have come and it will do all it can to kill you and/or the jets should you think the cheat will help.

The missiles are AA launchers. Besides, all you have to do is quick save inside the base, and again inside the Lazer. If you reload either of these stages you get time before they realise you're there. Driving in takes forever - just fly in, and quick save in the air just before you get inside the perimeter.

The XSX version has imaginary aimbot tanks and more deadly missiles, so you have to look back to remove them. On 360 you had no tank fire and avoidable missiles. Fairly sure it's impossible to get out with no damage otherwise, especially from the BS tanks.

Actual method: Quick save whilst flying in, if you land well save again, if you can get in the Lazer save again - then drive towards the southern fence before looking back and taking off (if you don't look back aimbot tanks shoot you, and the AA missiles hit too). Reload if any stage goes bad. Full health and armour is handy for getting in the Lazer.

When you get the jet just quick save and if you die just load the quick save you just saved and you are back at the jet. Just keep quick saving the game until you have successfully made it past all the missles. Also the jet will automatically fix itself when you load the game.

HUGE UPDATE ON THIS METHOD, SO PLEASE PIN THIS COMMENT IF YOU CAN: Yes, looking behind you and using the runway helps, but if you find that your jet is too damaged, use your quicksave to your advantage. It fixes the jet when you re-load your game, and if you get far enough away from the military base, all you have to do is evade the wanted level. I just got it first try as Franklin.

Another good way (I find the best) is if you have a hangar in the airport. Steal a stunt plane from the airport (which will most of the time spawn next to your hangar) and fly above the cloud line above the military base, then dive bomb right above the base. You want to jump out and parachute down, this gives you about 20 seconds (if your character doesn't mess around) to steal a jet, then all you have to do is dodge missiles.

i find the easiest ones to get are the ones facing north on the eastern side of the strip near the hangers .you fly just out of the base over the moutains you have to make sure to fly over the hanger cause if you fly over the strip your exposing yourself and the tanks will shoot you down then head in the direction of the sandy shore air field to get away

last bunch of times I tried either there were already tanks by the time I got to the jet or they spawned in within seconds (3 of them) by the time I got to the hangar to steal the jet and they blocked the entrance. Have you been able to get the Lazer jet to save in that location? So far I haven't found any hanger that can save them permanently, I've lost 7 so far due to losing them in a cut scene and or not saving. Each time I parked the Jet in the hanger I'd auto save from phone... I've heard that Trevor's other airstrip can house jets but you need two in the hanger otherwise the unique plane will replace it, I haven't personally tried this yet though. There is a place in the front corner of that military hanger you hijacked the jet that you are pretty much invulnerable, the guards just try to shoot you through the wall on the other side, a few might stray in however they'll mostly just gather up in one giant angry mob. My method is to use Trevor and his nearby airbase, his helicopter spawns every time so you can skydive down to the military base. Every so often I get sent to the hospital in downtown, in that case I just go to the airport and steal a jumbo jet, eject and then crash it into their base in retaliation! Nice tip on looking behind, I've always tried to do flips to lose the guided missiles however it's about 60% that I'll be hit by at least one. No matter, once you lose the stars and if the jet isn't burning you can switch to another character and then switch back and the Jet will be healed. Haven't found a way to hijack the tandem helicopter yet, they only stay on the ground for like 2 sec

Best advice I can give is use the quick save function as soon as your in the hanger. Then again once your in the jet about to take off. With each quick save military response time is shortened giving you the edge to get out with minimum damage. However be prepared to do evasive maneuvers in air.

I managed to get it while doing a mission for my night club reckon it was pure luck, I was doing the mission got pissed off chasing a truck so try my hand at the airforce jump the fence and no alarms went off, don't know weather it's a glitch or what??

My plan goes as follows: Play as Trevor and get a Bersa. Get in the Bersa at Sandy Shores Airfield and fly to Fort Zancudo. Make sure you have a parachute. Jump at the jet. Fly off. Park in hanger.

You can not take the jet i tried for hors everytime they blow you up why cant you buy it in story mode caues i think its patch so they blow me up everytime

I finally found a way you have to use invincibility cheat and super jymp go to the base fight all the tanks that they spawn(the best way to do this is to approach them and they will blow themselves)and then you have to wait for the fighter jet that is flying above the base and fires rockets at you when you take off with the stolen jet to land and the pilot to get out. Immediately steal a jet and take off.You can easily leave the base without your jet blow out.Hope i helped

Fly to the ocean when you escape and do spins and maneuvers so you can get away I thought the same thing myself

I literally almost got it! I literally almost got it! I parachuted in, fought off the military, get into the jet, only got shot once, escaped the police, was about to get to my hangar until the engine dies! Like come on! XD

easy way, use taxi, go to south gate. go in to car park so you not meet Rhino, take hydra at run way, fly it higher and go to sea. use switch or quick save to fix the lazer.

Quick advise look back and fly high as possible and if any helicopter or jet fires at you spin and fly upwards then when you are far away from the base take it your hanger and there you go
