How do the ice makers work without a compressor?

The chest freezer does have a compressor. The ice makers are just ice makers. They just turn water into ice cubes. The freezer supplies the cold.

Do you have to keep your lights on to run the freezer?

Nope. The freezer is plugged into its own outlet. The ice makers are plugged into a Christmas light timer than I can turn on and off with a remote. So I can still have the freezer on without having it make ice.

Wouldn't pvc board have been a better choice than wood? No finishing, no mold, no rotting.

For the collar? Maybe would’ve been a ‘smarter’ choice I guess. I like the look of stained wood. Haven’t had any mold issues yet, we’ll see how it holds up long-term. I don’t foresee any problems 👍

@@CarsCraftsDrafts absolutely, I’m in Australia and live in the tropics, i fish the Great Barrier Reef 🪸 We have to cool the fish down as quick as possible. Fuel, ice, bait, it can easily be $700 trip

@@CarsCraftsDrafts The fishing is amazing, I’ve a small boat , but my neighbours boat is 30ft cat. I got 15 kilos of fillets out of my last trip valued about $1500.00. we catch coral trout red emperor, and all other reef fish Spanish mackerel etc, sharks their a pest we hate sharks 🦈
