This is exactly what I want to do, but there has to be an easier way. Your methods are very sophisticated. I don't think the average Joe will be able to do this retrofit.

There may very well be an easier way but I’ve not found it yet! I don’t think my methods are too sophisticated though. The tools I used to make this slipper fit were a hand drill, a file, and a hacksaw. That was it! Definitely within reach of a tinkerer.

New update, I don't think that clutch works. I made 3 clutches( for 3 cars) and I still see that differentials, shafts and etc wears a lot. We drive in heavy (outdoor) track, but without JUMPS. I maximum loosen spring (don't forget, you don't have a lot space for loosen, because distance between brackets is limited) and then I dissembled clutch after some runs, clutch pads were like new. That's means that clutch do no slips.

I’d offer it but it’s not worth my time. It takes about 3-4 hours to complete one and no-one is going to drop the kind of money that pays for 4 hours work when the lc10b5 is a much more sensible option ;)

@@ElectronicMusicUnderground yup you sure could, in fact if you replace the diffs and drive shafts with lc racing ones then it will work. But, if you did that you’d be well on the way to the price of an lc10b5 kit so it starts to become less sensible

Is this still the best option?

I’ve not seen another working slipper installed, though there are other options that use a solid spur, or a centre diff, which are possible.

Thank you for an informative video, but this is quite clearly NOT a Wltoys 104001. That is a model with the motor at the rear of the chassis, not amidshios. That being said, I think I can adapt this to the 104001.

Not sure what video you were watching. It is a 104001. The motor is the orange thing in the middle of the car.

For some reason your video is so small, I can't really see what you are doing clearly on my phone (format). I think if it was easier to view, I could follow you easier. I guess I could try a magnifying glass or try to view on a PC.

That’s a good idea. I didn’t really intend on making this a blow by blow super detailed video. There’s a certain degree of fudge factor when making modifications that aren’t just drop in off the shelf items, and I’m conscious that not everyone will have access to metric tubes or the same tools as I have. Bear in mind that I made the one you see in the car without any guides. Once you have the slipper clutch in front of you it’ll probably make a lot more sense too. Oh and yes I was disappointed with the format too. The free software I used to edit the video together wasn’t really great and output like that without any choice. Blame Instagram 🤣

i'd rather fit the gear towards the back so i could fit a real battery in it
@WellingtonIronman2 жыл бұрын
The chassis accepts the standard shorty lipo once you remove the OE battery stops. Most buggies use that size :)
