EASILY Locate & Catch Summer Panfish - Crappie & Bluegill

The Sturgeon bite has been crazy this year on the OtterTail River near Fergus Falls. As far as I know my wife and I are the only ones who fish them. Our best day was 18 sturgeon in a 11 hour trip. Better than any Rainy River trip we have had. Our smallest this year was 41 inches and our biggest was 68 inches.

Exactly what I needed Nicole! I have only caught one crappie in open water ever. I catch them every winter here in NW Ontario during winter through ice but I need to improve my open water panfish game. Cheers and tight lines!

@@NicoleStoneOutdoors what weight? I've never tried using 4 lb line on a medium action pole. That's what I use for pan fish on light action poles. I like the fight when catching fish. I see people just drag the fish in using to me overweighted gear for that they're fishing for and in my opinion that takes the fun out of it unless you're in a tourney or something like that.
