I absolutely love your videos! They are entertaining, funny! I can't get enough of them! But the best thing is that you are a great teacher! You have a way of making small engine repair easy! You teach from experience! I was always intimidated by carburettors and ignition systems, but you made it easy and fun to learn! Thank you for the Chanel and keep them coming! Can you show how to properly adjust the speed on that POF? I have the Part-on variant and its god awful slow in reverse and not fast enough at full speed. The friction wheel needs to be adjusted, not sure how?

Why do the belts wear out so fast? I have an old Craftsman and I have to replace that belt once or twice a year. The drive is 7 or 8 years old.
@mtwseneca2 жыл бұрын
Look at the alignment. I have redone a few curb sale blowers and rarely is a belt bad. The idler bracket that swings the idler to engage the belt may be out of kilter. I actually put a large flat washer behind the big pulley to bring it into better alignment than it was from the factory. A straight edge on the edges of the large pulley should come to the drive pulley in a parallel manner. Mike

For a POF they sure made the auger belt easy to change. Maybe its not that reliable under the pressure of heavy snow, or neglect. That really was a quick replacement. Im not familiar with that brand.

I put a cambuckle strap from the auger to the handle when I do belts on those, so I can just pull on the strap and it holds the halves exactly where you want them and you don't have to hold anything.
@davidstake68572 жыл бұрын
That was so easy, you should have let little Johnny do it.
@Don_ECHOguy2 жыл бұрын
Now that was quick and simple. I have a very nice 1986 1026 John Deere snowblower that takes a little over an hour to change one of these belts. You have to loosen the belt tensioner totally and remove five belt keepers. What a pain in the ASS!

If I'm gonna buy a inexpensive machine it'll be a MTD for me. As long as it is the MTD with the friction drive. No freaking chains or hydrostatic crap. Oh and non with junk cables. My MTD's all have a crank handle and manual shoot , they do have cables for the actuation of the auger and transmission. However they are not sheathed cables, they are open cables with pulleys . I also have an old Toro that still works. NO cables at all. My $00.02.
