Ahhhh soooo glad you get it! When I saw all those orange kittens I just... my whole heart.... just... AHHH! And then they were crawling on me, playing and sleeping. It was such a moment of pure joy for me :) Yessss my little cat is my absolute twin soul. I have two cats actually and I adore Figgy but she's like a roommate haha an equal! So smart and independent. The little one, my everything, she and I are co-dependent. Bonding for all eternity. She is mine and I am hers.... and Figgy just takes care of the both of us :)

After I watched your nice video about the city where I was born and grew up, Hamburg, I checked out where you travelled before (wow, many places) and found out that you have been in Chiang Mai too. Here I lived for 7.5 years and I really love the city. It´s not beautiful with all these same looking and bad maintained townhouses and a lack of beautiful old buildings like by example in Vietnam, but it´s vibrant, the people are super friendly, the handicraft markets are lovely and the food is amazing. You really should see next time the beautiful nature around the city, the mountains, the rice terraces, the water falls and so on. 6 months ago I moved to Jerez in southern Spain. If you will be one day in this area, it would be a pleasure to meet you and show you all the interesting places. Opposite Chiang Mai there are hundreds and thousand years old buildings and that´s what I missed.

Arrived in Chiang Mai for a one month holiday in 2003.. I had $500 left when I decided to stay. I had absolutely no idea how I was going to live but I figured I could squeeze by on the 500 for a month. Wasn't sure what was going to happen after that! I stayed for 9 years. By absolute chance, I got an amazing job leading tours through SEA for high-end US tour companies. Now I own places in CM, a place in BKK, and a farm and house in Issan! In Oz at the moment, but will be back in October. Best decision I every made!

Glad you had an amazing time and I agree with you, sometimes you just don’t get the itinerary quite right and it takes a few times 😊. Good to see you back in action Phoebe. I was in Chiangmai around early December and I went to those markets in the clock tower complex whatever it’s called. They had an amazing band playing there. Love some of those hipster coffee shops and the vegetarian/vegan restaurants. I love the Khao Soi vegetarian they have at some places

Chiang Mai looks so wonderful!! I think my favorite parts were the surprise kittens (of course) and the ring-making! How cool is that? The healing bowls were also super cool and calming. @@travelforphoebe its called Bua Tong Waterfall. We travel with 2 boys now so it forces us to find all the fun stuff to tire them out 😆 It's about an hour out so good to hire a driver for half a day and see a few things in the same area. Huay Tueng Thao Reservoir was a nice spot on the way too.

Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and practically all temples in the North and in Laos as well have two Nagas (mythical serpent-like beast living underworld) guarding the steps leading into the temple. It is believed that Naga King is the underworld ruler and is a devout Buddhist disciple. Thus, sometimes you can see an image of Buddha meditating under the tree with Naga King guarding behind with his 7 heads above Buddha's head to protect him from wind/rain. There are also standalone Naga statute along Meking River on both sides of Thailand and Laos, the most famous of which is at Nakhon Phanom with 7 heads. It might be noted that one of the largest royal barge of Thai King has 7-heads Naga as its head. The mortal enemy of Naga is Garuda (a mythical flying beast) which is supposed to be God Rama's mount. Indonesia and Thailand deem Garuda as high class mythical beast and Indonesia's National Carrier is "Garuda". Garuda is also the official symbol of Thai King, thus official document would have Garuda symbol at its head. When there is an official royal announcement from the King or Palace, the initial TV screen features Garuda for a minute before the royal text appears together with reading sound.

Hiya! I need to taste Mango sticky rice now, you activated my cravings. Free Bird cafe, that name reminds my of the Free Bird song by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which is a very nice song. In case you don't know it, give it a listen on KZbin. Your spicy food looks so good. Spices actually help me while I am having blocked sinuses. Not sure if it would help for stomach issues. When I have stomach issues, I avoid high FODMAP food. That cat at 12:00 is so cute and it gets even better at 15:05 🥰. I lost my heart there. Coconut always helps the stomach. There's a link to them in the video description for you and you can show them my video and ask them to organise the same tour for you or you could jot down the names of the temples and find another company if you prefer :) Either way, I loved it and definitely recommend! Such a cool way to explore Chiang Mai's temples! Hope you have the BEST time.

@@travelforphoebe here I am looking at an apple just sitting there, not giving me my location at all. Wordless fruit just doesn't do it for me anymore. Also my cat has no eyebrows and when I asked if she wanted some she burped. I didn't know cats could burp. If you can swing it, I want more hidden doggos in future vids please 🙂
