I've heard of a similar event - not sure if it's true but I've heard it several times so who knows? Apparently someone with a gun robbed a financial establishment ( bank / building society?) with a gun while wearing leathers and a crash helmet to hide his identity. The cops were round his house straight away to arrest him as the cameras showed his name on his crash helmet. As I said not sure if this IS true but it's a gem if it is.....

Ireland in general is wild when it comes to accents. I'm from Northern Ireland and you'll hear like 5+ differant accents in each county and not to mention the differant dialects as well. And you only need to drive a few minutes for the accents to change, across villages, towns, and cities. Imagine all the American accents you can think of but compacted to just a 30 min to an hour drive from each other. My mother has a strong country Derry accent while my friend's mother has a strong city Belfast accent and they have no idea what the other person is saying. Belfast is only an hour away as well. And then there's people, usually older individual who have such a strong accent that only one person in the family can understand what there and your sitting there thinking "That's not even English" with your mum having to translate for you. Recall coming with my mum to her uncles house and having no idea what he was saying to me, smile and nod was all I could do lol And I didn't even mention the Irish Traveller accent you hear in this film. Even Irish people struggle understanding that one, yet it's beautiful that such a small island can be home to so many accents and dialects.

@jacksmith44602 ай бұрын
Bricktop is easily the best performance, he is perfection in that role...so horrible, but so funny, and he is Cockney AF. THAT is Cockney , what Brad Pitt is imitating has way more Irish in it, Its closest sounding accent is Northern Irish, but its not the same as that either, but has elements of Irish and British accents in it. Its hard to explain, but its very different sounding to Cockney. I appreciate to you it may all mush together, but to someone in the UK, Cockney and the "Pikey" accent Brad Pitt is doing are very very very different, about as different as possible to be and both still sound Brittish. Many (not all ) Gypsy's in the Uk have Irish heritage, hence the huge amount of Irish sound in some Traveller/Gypsy communities. Also many Romani Gypsy's too but that has more of a Dominant UK sound, but with a blend of regional UK vowels etc, that in turn is another accent, and in some cases that has even blended, blurring the lines even more. With city accents as well, even the difference between where I live ,Bristol(Bristolian accent) which is 100 miles away from London (cockney accent) we have very different accents, and ours is a lot closer in sound to London, but to peeps in London they would say we sound like farmers or even Pirates or something like that. Then there are Asian, Middle eastern, African and Carribean influences on accents all over the country , accents in the UK are mad, cray variety and different slangs all over the country. The blend of also modern and old accents is crazy. Old skool Bristolian, is quite different to modern Bristolian , as is Cockney etc the north of the uk has radically different accents to the south, even the middle has its own thing going on, then you have the Welsh in the West an dthe Scottish in the North who themselves have very broad and even vastly differently regional accents in of themselves. Is actually mind boggling for such a small place

The Rathkeale Rovers are legendary travelling folk, flogging dodgy firetrap sofas and tarring drives that don’t need it with chored (stolen) tarmac, from council sites, usually! Unreal.
