MVP as a Beginner? Top Lost Ark Classes!

i have always seen Scrapper as an amazing new player class, with the new update its damage has been cranked to slayer levels

Scrapper is easy but you have to have great uptime. With slayer your high base dmg makes up for your lack of uptime. The reason I mention this is after listening to the video he is clearly not only picking east classes but allowing new players to actually have an impact on the damage spread of the raid. Which I agree with. Yes you could be right about the new scrapper but currently this is the case. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see the balance patch your mentioning for another month or 2

I think you are right tbh. I think if I had the tai variation it would have been on this list 100%, because you're right. Whenever that balance patch hits our servers scrappers will be eating real good. I, unfortunately, have a shock scrapper and would not recommend that to anyone even remotely new, so tai was likely in my blind spot due to this. Appreciate the feedback!

I know you posted this video a year ago, but I just branched out from WOW and FFXIV (as a relatively new MMO player). Thank you so much for this video. Started with glaivier and then scrapper. Wasn’t really feeling it. Took your advice and created a sharpshooter, aeromancer, and slayer character. Love all of them.

I'd add pinnacle glaivier here - movement speed capped despite being a spec class, crit synergy, and stupid amount of damage in red stance, hands down the easiest entropy spec class to me. She might be pretty expensive to build though. Also, I'm not sure why you had to bring up that the average support in the game is mediocre (and you are correct) when most dps players have 50% of the uptime that they should and get away with it consistently except for hell mode, making them just as mediocre as your average support, yet you called them out specifically for some reason. Do supports get away with more mistakes? Yes and no - bad supports are easily kicked in lower tier raids which new/returning players would be doing for quite some time, and it's only for high end content people can tolerate bad support players due to support shortage. Other than that, great video. Thumbs up.

I appreciate the comment! I definitely agree that pinnacle is definitely close here, especially post it’s summer rework, but in comparison to the other main 3 dps on the list I deff think they are leagues above in regards of ease of play for new players mixed with getting into lobbies. LC and Pred just output damage so easily from basically anywhere on the map (brutal and guil have insane range and final blow and volcanic bring even more mobility to slayers kit) they are kind of brainless in that regard and slayers slightly more tank just tops it off. The slight thinking that you have to do, just for pinnacles rotation, just edges it out imo. Especially then factoring in that it’s a spec entro class so giga expensive in comparison. The main reason I focused on mentioning avg supp players are mediocre is that from atleast experience on a range of levels of raiding, whether it be prog or homework content someone who is mindless on supp just doing the basics and keeping yearning up will skate by typically under the radar a majority of the time. The comment isn’t made in a disparaging way but more of a way to build confidence for someone fresh to the game who id imagine would maybe have raid anxiety. Supps, in my opinion atleast, don’t have the same pressures as dps players do going into any form of raid content. So a new player can kind of rest assured that while they get into the game they don’t really have to master their uptimes on dmg buff or making sure to proc con/judge every time since a majority of players wouldn’t notice or care anyways. You’re also definitely right on the point about how at lower levels of raiding there’s plenty of supports, but I’d challenge that a bit to say that a newer supp is still more likely to get into a raid than a newer dps, and unless they are wiping the raid, on for example g1 vykas or valtan, they likely won’t be kicked because I truly believe the average player just doesn’t pay attention enough to really tell if they have ok support or good supports. And when factoring in that they’d be playing pally aswell, if they followed my advice, this ease of skating under the radar is magnified because of just how easy it is to do the bare minimum with that class. Once again appreciate the comment and feedback!

Punisher was putting out way more damage than predator was, and they just brought it in-line with predator, I wouldn't say slayer is busted, as the entropy set can be taxing if you are not familiar with the boss enounter and when to pop your shit. Busted class is Soul-eater the damage is stupid and doesn't require you to chase ass.

hello! you've got an interesting guide! I'm thinking of starting to play lost ark and I'm torn between three classes: berserker, slayer and soul eater. Which one can you recommend for pvp?

I am not the best person to ask about the pvp side of Lost Ark, but I can give my 2 cents. Berserker is ok, has mobility and stuns. Slayer has all of that and more and Soul Eater I truly have no idea from a pvp perspective. Pvp in LA isn't the most active compared to the first few months of its release, but I believe it is equalized, so once u get a char to a baseline ilevel you can go at it, meaning u can feasibly test some alts out. I'm not saying test a bunch of chars though, as it does take some time and resources to get them there, but does mean u could try 2 classes that you're eyeing for the pvp scene. I hope this wasn't too confusing, apologies

I think there is a lot of people here who wouldn't agree, but yes in my opinion the class is just super easy to pilot and its floor is pretty high. Has so much all around benefits that still make it the best class for new players, once again in my opinion. This video still holds accurate info for this current balance patch.

for support even 4x3 gets u into akkan (nm ofc), my pala is 4x3+1 and i get into groups easily, hell im even often radiant on it. other than that i agree with the video. I can see 4x3 even getting u into nm voldice if it lacks supports (although VPH is huge for it, so maybe 5x3 is mandatory for non-paladins)

Play whatever class is most fun you. All classes run like God mode. The game demands that you play alts in any event, to feed materials. When I see videos claiming this class or that class is doing top damage, I always scratch my head. How do you know? The game provides no combat log at all, so you will have to rely on 3rd party parsers. Plus there are so many variables. Engravings, gems, ability stone, cards, roster, auras.... This game has systems upon systems, upon systems. Very hard to compare classes. Most raid fails that I was part of was never the result of lack of damage, but rather failure to avoid or execute mechanics. That said, slayer is 10 out 10. Incredibly fun. Nothing else will give you that dopamine fix than smacking things around with that huge greatsword.

You are correct sir, but I would say that having a list of some of these easier to play classes for learning the game is ideal to a pretty treacherous new player experience to the PVE side of the game. All classes played by me, notably not a great player, and allow me to play very relaxed. Videos premise is to help aid that new player experience as best as possible. Appreciate the input friend!

Nothing is broken when you hit end-game raids which can't be soloed, low chance enhancement of gear, etc. You need powerful characters who can help to mitigate some of the harder content.

Agree with you, Predator Slayer is SUPER expensive to build!!! The author of the video have no clue how EXPENSIVE to build Predator Slayer, from my EXP as i Have Predator Slayer 5x1 +1 1590 and it cost me to build around 250k gold... yeah sure its "CHEAP" :D espacially for new player. 100% disinformation from author of this video

Here’s the thing, for a 5x3 which I would assume is what they would build first, it’s not bad at all. A large lump sum for it comes from if you buy the books, but you can bypass that. It may seem hard to believe but on first week of its release I had a 5x3 for 45k. It was only that high because all slayer accessories in the first week were like 30k, so that was the lump sum of the cost. But for a decent relic piece now you can get pretty cheap prices now depending on pairing of engravings + the increase of relic acc drops with class engravings. To the best of my knowledge, I also don’t think there’s a hard line on having like 1800 swiftness so you you really can get a cheap 5x3 if you plan out the purchase beforehand.

Yeah well, also "It`s specc variant got a SMALL nerf"... yeah, really small, just changed a whole digit of the overall dmg, and i dont mean the very last digit xD For the amount of investment the Punisher demants, especially if you want to play the 1.0 Cycle, the nerfs were nearly game-braking to the point, that there is no use in playing Punisher over Predator anymore. It`s even more expensive than Predator, it`s harder to play and deals less damage on an average Raid Encounter, because you have a harder time to keep your optimal dps up. (no swift aka slower move speed and on 1.0 Cycle not even a dash)

So to every one to listen about paladin. Paladin NOT to easy to play. its just a looks like. Artist al lot more easy. you know why? Cuz as paladin you just can not heal your team. X heal LESS than shield. If you do not know figths=> team became an potions alcohocks club. And you have down time of shields=> team any way take damage and you must heal them back. But paladin almost do not have healing. its 30% of max hp PER MINET from shield and Same from X . Why Artist better? You have 100% shield up time on team . You have almost 3 times more healing in comparing to paladin. You have a PORTAL. Not a sharpshooter. Demon hunter pistolier.Way more easy to play.More mobility,more stagger,do not have chargable skills,do not have Z managment.Just jumping and shoting. Literaly
