Thank you for this video. I grew up in Manhattan Chinatown and the last time I was at Coney Island was 1980. Brings back so many great memories. My 6th grade final field trip was here. We had a blast on the bumper cars. Then went ice skating here a lot in 1980. Left NYC in 85 but my heart is always here. So good to see so many businesses are still there. Wow, the Wonder Wheel is still going. Also glad to see the newer roller coasters. Hope to visit this area again next time I am in town.

I left New York almost 20 Years ago, and it was one of the worst mistakes I ever made in my life. I have been living in Ohio ever since, and I feel like I have been serving a 20 year prison sentence. I am bound and determined to get back to N.Y.C. if it is the last thing I ever do, and at the age of 71 it probably will be. If I can spend one full day in the city of my birth before I die, it will be well worth it!

@@JohnnyAzariaTV Things are just about the same everywhere now. I haven't been to a late movie, or jazz club, or play, or poetry reading in 20 years because there is no public transportation at night. Night time used to be my favorite time. I have been a prisoner at night since I've been here. I'm not talking about a rural town, I'm talking about the capital city of the state! The people are basically hillbillies, and it is the most backward place I've ever seen. I'll take my chances (as I do here anyway) just to be able to get on a subway and go anywhere I want, at any time. My hobby is martial arts, and I am unusually healthy for my age. I was educated in New York (Bronx Science H.S. and Hunter College), and I know how to survive in New York. I know I won't be living anywhere fancy, but then, I never did. Things are no cheaper here. Believe it when I tell you that this place is a living death. Even many of the people who were born here hate it. I always had a love/hate relationship with N.Y.C., but at least this time I will appreciate what it has to offer.
