The Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive, commonly called the FDR Drive for short, is a 9.68-mile (15.58 km) limited-access parkway on the east side of the New York City borough of Manhattan. It starts near South and Broad Streets, just north of the Battery Park Underpass, and runs north along the East River to the 125th Street / Robert F. Kennedy Bridge / Willis Avenue Bridge interchange, where it becomes the Harlem River Drive. All of the FDR Drive is designated New York State Route 907L (NY 907L), an unsigned reference route.

Never been to the USA but always wanted to. I'm amazed at the distance between districts, the place is enormous. Thank you for these videos, it gives those of us who have never travelled a chance to see and taste other places. America is a complete shithole, why would you want to go there? Worst food in the world, artificial fake crap, mass shootings every day, constant threat of getting shot, healthcare that leaves people dying on the streets, some of the most stupid progressive laws that make no sense, and a politician with no spine! I mean what interests you, the abundance of Boring Mcdonalds fake artificial burgers, or go to a proper country with Natural delicious food? Are you interested in walmart? Seeing the overpriced department stores that sell everything another country has, except with boring fat people? Oh hell if I said this in America I would get cancelled big time by some green haired genderfluid idiot. Trust me I have been to America. You do not want to go there. Stay away.

It is one of the greatest places on earth!

Born and raised in NYC. Left in 2004. Moved out west to Southern California. Between L.A and San Diego. The best move I ever made. The highways didn't change a bit. That's scary. NYC is a great tourist spot. That's all. I come one a year for a week or two. Come to see some family and friends. Hang at my favorite spots and then leave. Now I look at the mountains and beaches on my drives. Also great year long weather. You have no idea how big a difference it is.

From 6:30 to 6:35, you can see the three very deep sewer pits at the foot of the elevated expressway. I always make sure to stay in the left or center lane instead of the right. They are deeper than some of the worst potholes and the city designed them like that for drainage purposes. They will definitely bend or crack your wheels if you go at normal speed.

SoCal here. Last time I've visited NY was 1986 and had a great time. A lot has changed, but it brings back memories. Next time I go there and need to actually drive, I'll know who to email. Those pits in the road look wicked though!

I've driven in NYC just once, way back when I-95 was just being created. I was looking for the George Washington Bridge and missed my turn. Then I saw a bridge ahead, but it wasn't George, and I ended up on Long Island. On subsequent trips I went around NYC, not through it.
