BTW allot of ppl like me in the Netherlands alone do not watch any TV..or Netflix, to us TV is the new radio. And we know who is behind netflix and the race baiting what not. that is the reason we dont watch it, we cant stand the propaganda everywhere.

CharlieBo......WELCOME to East New York Brooklyn. I lived in the Penn Wortman NYC Housing projects for 28.5 years and from 9:22 to the end of your video was my old neighborhood. I would have been proud to ride around with you and show you the REAL hardcore areas. The thing about East NY.....the people can be VERY hospitable when they want to. My husband and family can tell you so much about how the neighborhood has changed. Back in the 70's, 80 and 90's it was a REALLY BAD place to live (crime rate was off the charts, poverty, domestic violence, etc.) I was followed into the project buildings and almost sexually/violently attacked (seriously) but the hand of God saved me. The neighborhood has improved a lot compared to over 20 years ago. Let me know the next time you come back to East NY Brooklyn. I would to take a picture with you and whoever drives with you and post it on my Facebook page. God bless and drive back home safe.

Kelly Norvell that would make for an AWESOME & more entertaining video if Charliebo313 takes you up on that offer, I have been suggesting such to him for at least a year now....just for him to have a native of the area either drive him around & explain & give himself & viewers current knowledge & history of the place would be so unique & it will bring an element of real life to the video.... it would be the best thing since his old gas station/ corner store videos in Detroit....When I get time I'm going to do such videos, in my eyes I find nothing better than to have a native of each city give a personal tour of the area & explaining history in the area plus telling some famous or notable people who came from the area....Personally once I reach the point where I can monetize my channel then I would pay the person gas money & buy dinner at a restaurant of there choice. Happy NewYears Kelly & may God bless you.

@Pretty Woman .....Happy 2020 Pretty Woman. Girrrl......I sure do have a love story. I was dating a guy back in the 80's who looked like Russell Simmons (for real). All of a sudden he dumped me to take back his ex girlfriend. My head was all F_ _ _ed up. A few months later I run into my ex boyfriend's homeboy who told me he was shot in the head inside the lobby of his project building and died. Now, had I still been with him, I probably wold have been shot dead too (being an innocent bystander). From that day on.....I try NOT to question why God allows things to happen; God can see what we cannot coming around the corning. God bless.

Property values in East New York are skyrocketing. A big new townhouse (5 bedrooms) just sold on Wortman Avenue two blocks south of Linden Blvd for 1.3 million. I told my mother (we used to live on Hendrix Street) and she said you could have bought up the entire block back when we lived there for that. I hope the residents are not forced out by gentrification. There has to be someplace working class people can afford to live in Brooklyn.

Then Puerto Ricans came over took that whole hood to themselves. Dominicans came way after like in 2010 and the years after.

I grew up in East New York, right there by that first turn on Pitkin Ave. between Euclid and Pines st. Back in the 1970's there used to be a Bohacks supermarket on the NW corner of Pitkin and Euclid. That pocket back then was predominantly PR. I left for Miami in 1990, it was terrible with the crack and the dirty cops at the 75 were down with all that sh*t. I've visited after, it ain't paradise but it has improved significantly imo.

I got off the train and was Walking down Fulton st near McDonald’s , walking down the street a SUV rolls past a group of people almost a block away and I hear the shots ringing out. Sounded like multiple shooters in the truck and two or more returning fire from the group. Ducked down next to a parked car. Thank god I didn’t have my headphones in like usual. OK, call me a freak, a fatalist, a fool. But I believe if you gentrify poor neighborhoods like this, you take the GUTS out of them, their AUTHENTICITY, their very HEART AND SOUL. People LIVE here! Families LIVE here! Homes are MADE here! Crime? Sure. Drugs? Sure. Violence? Don't hold your breath. But you show me ANY urban neighborhood that doesn't have it, rich or poor! The rich can better protect their neighborhoods from burglery and break-ins with state-of-the-art security, and they're better able to protect their own vices and keep things quiet with the help of the almighty greenback. BUT KEEP THEM FROM BUYING OUT NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THE PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD TO LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE!! Take the damn money and make the improvements and incorporate the services deemed necessary, but outside of that, LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE!!! That's my opinion.

Why does the title have to be “hood” in Brooklyn. People live in neighborhoods, and some neighborhoods struggle. A lot of that struggle was created by the awful practice known as redlining. So, as you drive through the neighborhood of East New York, understand that it was created by unfair and discriminatory practices towards people of color. Despite poverty and discrimination, East New York has created some of the most outstanding and upstanding people. Please do your research before callously naming a video post.

Wow this reminds me of Chicago in say, the Austin neighborhood. Like driving up north avenue. Even the same type of brick buildings. Or like driving down 47th and MLK drive. Jk it's not that bad. Yeah, it's hood. But there's still a lot of decent people still living there who work for a living and struggle to raise their kids right.
