Wakazaemon is the bass player. Very popular session musician and has worked with Murata Tamu on Daisuke Kurosawas X-Japan project, Been selected for the Maximum the Hormone band project and played in Marty Friedmans touring band plus loads of other stuff. She's a superstar bass player.

Even her car is famous! (and cute) 😉. She's a monster bassist and extremely versatile too.

Yes, Wakazaemon is solid AF. loved her bass and vocals with Tamu in the One OK Rock cover "wherever you are" I have enjoyed everything I have seen/heard by her. Of course I love Yuki also, interested to see where this band goes from here.

I'm a LOVEBITES fan. But I'm also paying attention to this band. Ayasa on the violin and Yuki on the guitar are famous in Japan, and a few years ago, Yuki was even introduced as the most beautiful guitarist in the world. Beauty is a violation!

They all have multiple projects, so it will be interesting to see if they run with this, given how good the reception has been. i hope they do more!

Akane Minato was the main vocalist in the idol group Predia for 11 years. People keep mentioning Mochi to Cheese, but that was just a small acoustic side project that was only active for a couple of years.

Mizuki -- solid rock drumming, but some Lonesome Blue material showcased her versatility. I hope EOE's does the same for her.

they all are so amazing, but the rythmsection is killer.

The stand-out part of the song for me is that beautiful violin intro, but it bodes well that one of the best songwriters in Japan, Mao (Light Bringer, Lovebites writer) has a co-writing credit on the music. On the Unlucky Morpheus comparison, this is within the range of what they do on the rock versus metal spectrum. For me the biggest difference is the prominence the violin has throughout this song, which is exciting as I'd like UM to give it more prominence.

I didn't know that Mao co-wrote the track. It's funny, but that's probably why I find it a bit cheesy and boring like a lot of the stuff I have heard that he wrote for Lovebites (some of it is great) and Lonesome_Blue as well. He just likes to write the kind of overly "epic" music with (to me) overly cheesy melodies, like it would fit in a Disney soundtrack if slowed down. I am also not a big fan of the vocalists style, but there is no question all the members on here are very good. I do enjoy the solo's, but I like Unlucky Morpheus writing way more than this (not the biggest fan of their more power metal songs to be fair). I will check out more by them though and might buy an album to properly give them a chance, but on first few listens I find it as overly clean (overproduced) and lifeless sounding like Lonesome_Blue. Also, the fact that he now works on this project is probably meaning Lonesome_Blue is done. I have a feeling they won't make it an other year and they might not even bother searching for a new guitarist (I predicted Narumi would leave too).

@@MaartenT I actually find the core vocal melodies of this song underwhelming, but I don't know whether they're Mao's or not as he's only a co-writer. I'm very impressed with the quality of the songwriting in Lovebites and Light Bringer (Lonesome_Blue are a bit hit-and-miss for me so far - didn't know Mao was involved). Power-metal intrinsically has an epic quality that can be a bit cheesy, yes, but I don't mind that. There are bands like Dragonforce who intentionally turn it up to 11, but the Lovebites/UM level works for me.

@@kicorse I own the Lonesome_Blue cd and actually added the credits to a discography site, Mao has done most of everything for them from writing (7/11 tracks and one co-written) to co-producing (credited as Sound Producer). So there are some other writers, but the majority of stuff was done by Mao. I suspect Narumi didn't get a lot of freedom and it's the reason why I predicted her to be the first one to leave. Lonesome_Blue always felt like a very manufactured "band" to me, mainly pushed by Victor and Mao to try and surf on the success of other Japanese rock bands like Band-Maid and Trident. But to be fair, I might be misreading that and I am not a huge Victor fan after they basically left Gacharic Spin to rot more or less so I might be biased. I am really curious if this band is supposed to keep going or if they are basically going to be a side-project if all of them have time that maybe produces one album. Because I can not imagine BanG Dream gives a lot of time off to Ayasa and Yuki has a lot on her plate as well. And if the bass player is typically a studio musician she is probably very busy as well. I see this as an other try for Mao to push something through. I give this more of a chance than Lonesome_Blue because of the talent involved but it will be difficult to keep them all on the same page and find the time to perform. As far as power metal goes, there isn't a lot of power metal that I really enjoy, but I know a lot of people like those type of melodies a lot. I forced myself to listen to more of the Japanese power metal bands and Unlucky Morpheus, Lovebites and some of the other Japanese bands do work for me for the most part (Zettai Club is an other one), but in general it's just a genre that's not really for me and that I have gotten used to over time. There are some exceptions, I like some of the Symphony X albums for example, but those are also very proggy. I generally don't enjoy power metal vocals too much which is what has always been the most difficult for me to get used to together with the chorus melodies. Edit: Also funnily enough, I remember seeing that Ayasa wrote the music before in their credits (possibly with Mao, but I don't remember). So they have changed it to East Of Eden + Mao. And this band name already existed, so it's a pain to search info for. Edit2:Just found an article that mentions "Ayasa (Violin/Producer/Leader)", so I might have mixed up producer and writer.

@@MaartenT They sell 2.5K tickets in 4 hours. That takes most bands years to accomplish. It took them 3 weeks. I wouldn’t worry some session work stands in the way of this project.

@@danhague9442 You say that, but have you seen how live BanG Dream concerts look? The amount of money that company makes with rhythm gacha games, anime, music and who knows what else is insane and I have a feeling their contracts are probably very strict and the same goes for everyone else to a lesser extent. I assume most of them are tied to different labels, which is whole thing. I have seen credits sections for some Japanese jazz records or eg. Genie High where Ikkyu is not on the label Genie High is on, it's a lot of extra text for 1 person. Yes, the majority will probably be fine if this takes off because it will give the the member in question more exposure, but for BanG Dream? It's a drop in a bucket. But I might be wrong, I am curious how it's going to go. I was first going to give them 2 years, but it all depends on how much fun they have and how much input they get (or if Mao is going to do the Lonesome_Blue thing). It's either going to be a like Nemophila or The Jazz Avengers (they were both a one-off thing that turned into a band/group) or it's going to be line Lonesome_Blue or Hagane (but probably not as quickly) where both of them had 1 person writing basically everything and people most likely left because of it. Only time will tell, I can see this go very well but it's not because tickets sell well that it's going to last. I have somewhat of the same "manufactured" feeling with this band as I did with Lonesome_Blue for some reason. I am not convinced it's a good idea to "buy" yourself a good band that will work well together, it's possible but it's not a guarantee. But I wish them all the best just like I did with Lonesome_Blue. I don't have as strong of a feeling that this isn't going to go well like I did with Lonesome_Blue, so they are probably fine. I will certainly check it out if they do release an album or if they release a live Blu-ray.

I hope we will hear more from them. Sounds a bit overproduced (typical Mao ^^), but I fucking love it. Akanes voice is soooo good for this kind of music. I hope she keeps on making rock/metal, she (her voice) seems born for it xD
