Thank you man, I'm a life long Long islander who moved to PA 7 years ago. Watching you catch, Bergalls, King fish, Porgies, Hackle Heads, Et. Al, is like visiting old friends....

When I lived in NYC, we never had those fish like grunts (pig fish) croaker, spot croaker, whiting (kingfish) and the return of some sheepshead. Where I live now in the South, we catch those all the time. Waters have been getting cleaner and warmer up there the last 20 years and it shows
@BobAquaticАй бұрын
@@fishingjimcolon4339 oh yeah the water really cleaned up. If your into fishing northeast, climate change has been shaking things up. The spots migrated really far north this year, well past NY

Hey Coney! Thank you for watching. Its nice to mix it up and freshwater rocks too. If you don't mind sharing, what's your rig for the croaker? I tried to target them the other day for a quick lunch but wasn't doing something correct. Trying to avoid buying worms for them but might have to, seems like thats what they want in the bay.

Great video. When my sons were young like 7 and 9 we would go to Sandy hook and catch Kingfish. Then we would go home which was a 2hr drive and throw them on the grill with some potatoes and a loaf of French bread and have an incredible dinner. That brings back some great memories they are both close to 40 yrs old now. Again thanks for the video

Love that story big buck! Was a nice visual. Kingfish are wonderful eating, just big enough that you only need one or two. Appreciate the comment and for watching the episode bud

Nice catch. Love the 2nd one that was making all the noise. Was probably cursing you out... Lol. When I got my first few king fish, I thought those were baby finish and let them go until later on after some research I started keeping the size you kept. Good catch. I was I was able to catch large black seabass from the shore.

The grunts are so funny. I am not sure if it was one or not but they all make that noise. Must've gotten pushed in from the south and enjoyed its stay in NYC. On a Grunt Tour of The Northeast

@@BobAquatic I wonder if anyone had cought and added to their aquarium. I bet they would look awesome. Coney Island should create a local fish species tank that showcase all the local fish or even the migratory fish. That would be interesting. I remember visiting kingsborough community college long time ago where they kept some sharks. Not sure if they still have that tank.
@BobAquaticАй бұрын
@@AZ-NY I have never been to the coney aquarium but I’m sure they got something like that. Most local aquariums have exhibits like that, if not they totally gotta get on that. I gave up on fish pets but it’s fun when you get into it and the tanks running happy

What do you think works better, shrimp or sand fleas?
@BobAquaticАй бұрын
Ones a soft bait and ones a hard bait. If I was on an island and could have only one bait, it’d be shrimp. But better or worse isn’t really a great description, they have different applications
