Great weather and what a great area to take a hike - not keen on those cows mind. despite cheating a nice walk to the lake and the lake itself was superb, real nice setting, despite all the bugs there. There sure seemed to be a lot of fish in there some big ones too but they did not seem interested in biting. I am with Kristy, 'hiking it the heat is garbage', so I third that, give me the cool every day, cheers Alan

Hi guys nice day you had there with clear skies and sun and there were a lot of cows when you started out ! Loved the look of the lake at the start too. Good that you had an easy trail and saw a buck and a doe and always nice to see wild flowers. That tree was interesting but watch out for the mosquitoes 😮 East Shingle Creek Lake was gorgeous with the reflections too. The lilies were in the way of you catching all of the fish ! Loved the flowers photos that you took and the ones of your both. Looked like a great adventure, the mountains in the back were fabulous as well and this was great :) ~ Anna 👍

Nice to see a fishing video! I floated that lake last year and did pretty well. The tiny fish are red side shiners, which is why the lake was stocked with splake many years ago. Some of those splake are still in there, as well as brookies and tiger trout. With all the forage fish, I'm sure some of the tigers get pretty big, although I maxed out around 15". Fun place! It's too bad you didn't get into them, but at least you took us along.

Thank you for watching. It was fun to get back into the backcountry to try some new lakes. Backpacking and fishing the backcountry are in my plans. This was a neat lake with a short hike to get there. Plus, I could see there were some sizable fish in there. Thanks for the info on the smaller ones. Maybe next time I will have better luck and more time to fish. Congrats on your catches there. Take care and have a great day.

Thanks Jennifer. It was a nice to see a new area after having passed it for decades headed to other adventures. Somebody said all the little fish were a small species that the bigger ones eat. So I need to catch one of those bigger ones on my line next time! Timpanogos is very visible from a long ways. This gives a good perspective of how much snow is still up there. Just last week there was still snow in the meadow that had all the flowers. There will be a late bloom up there this year. I'm headed to the Uintas for the week. Meeting up with Paul for a night again. Should be fun. Have a great day.

Thanks Scott. We had a fun day exploring this area and lake. It was a new lake and trail for us to check out. The roads were bumpy but were actually not that bad. The Picaridin lotion is the best and has replaced all other forms of bug repellent. Thanks for watching. Have a nice day.

I heard a sad dog. At first, I thought it was outside. My hearing isn't always accurate, I guess LOL. We need to take a fishing trip. Haven't been fishing in a couple months. Have had so much other stuff to do. Wow that tree was pretty darn twisted. Lots of pretty flowers. Pretty place to stop and fish. Ugh seems mosquitoes are bad everywhere! That lotion works pretty well?? I've never seen it. Is it less nasty feeling and smelling than the sprays? I hate the sprays. I also don't like fishing trips where I catch no fish. I get very impatient and bored quickly lol. I swear the older I get the worse my attention span gets lol. Oh dang. Almost! Maybe you should switch to micro fishing lol. I've done that. Not intentionally, but that one trip all I caught was teeny tiny fish. I didn't even know micro fishing was a thing when I did that. I'm like a pro with that trip LOL. Did you say you're going to count it? LOL That sounds about right. I'm sure he'll end up being about two foot long and weighing around 15 pounds before the story ends 😂Short isn't a bad thing. As long as it was a good time. How was the concert Kristy went to? Did they have a good time? The flowers are pretty, but those snow capped mountains are gorgeous! They remind me of the Tetons. We just saw them again for the second time. I'm already wanting to go back a third. They're my favorite. We saw Glacier on this trip too, but there's something about the Tetons that speaks to me. Anyway, glad you guys had a good little trip even though you didn't catch anything.... er.... I mean.... even though you only caught that one monsterous fish that did NOT jump off the hook LOL.
@Packsalot
@Packsalot Жыл бұрын
Thanks Felix. You heard right. The people that just showed up as we were getting on the trail had 2 dogs whining to get get out of the van and start their hike. The fishing could have been better but we still had a great time exploring this new area. Yes, the Picaridin lotion works the best out of anything I've ever tried. Plus it does not stink and it is not oily or harmful to put on. It is the only form of repellent that we ever use. Cheaper too. I hooked that fish, I'm counting it! LOL. Kristy had a blast at the concerts, Duran Duran and The Cure. The Tetons are fantastic. So beautiful. Sounds like you had a great trip. Talk about fish stories, I did catch the biggest fish I've never caught there. LOL. Have a great day.
