Illinois powerhouse vs PA powerhouse. The Flyers are consistently the best team in IL and Missouri. Will play any team any where. Not afraid of the prep college teams that have players from across the country 89Blocks 2nd to None💯💯💯

So glad they opened up the season beating the dog shit out of those north shore fairies from Loyola. With IMG losing to Corner Canyon from Utah, ESL has a legit chance vs them this year it seems. Always rooting for East Side except when they play the program Coach Shannon copied to take them to the next level - St Rita. After 1978 playoff decimation:48-12, nobody except St Rita beats the Flyers like that. Afterwards Coach Shannon made the trip up to Chicago and copied everything we do at Rita. And the results speak for themselves. Thankfully the Flyers play a national schedule each year because the kids work hard and deserve the opportunity to go against the best.

@@adapttoculture2161 what am I talking about? Just truth my man. 1974, the Kellen Winslow team, lost to Glenbrook North(how?). 1979 was Eastside's 1st title. In a Readers Digest article from 1990(maybe 1991) the Great Coach Bob Shannon talked about how after we drilled you 48-12 in the 1978 playoffs he knew he had to change to compete, especially up front on the lines, w/SouthSide Catholic Schools. So he came to talk to the Great St Rita Coach Pat Cronin and in 1979... Voila, East St Louis State Championship. And the rest is history as they say. Now, you can go look for the article, I have multiple times, but it's a bitch to find. And the one thing Igor doesn't lie about is football, especially St Rita football. Go talk to the old timers that are big Flyer supporters they'll tell you what's up. And I've said this many times, as long as St Rita & Eastside aren't playing each other, I'm just as big a fan of the Flyers as you are. There's a mutual respect between the programs which is why St Rita was invited down for the 1st couple City of Champions games. Mt Carmel sure AF wasn't. Rita was. Remember seeing the great Bryan Cox say 'We knew we could ask Rita to come down because they'll play anyone anytime anywhere.' This year IMG already lost to Corner Canyon so gotta believe Flyers have a legit chance to beat them. Past years that IMG school shouldn't even have been playing actual High Schools because it was like a prep school/D2 college team ffs. But now after beating Fairy ass Loyola, Newton, Imhotep and W in 1st conference game - they're poised for an undefeated season. Hope they do it.
