If the goal is to help with critical thinking, debate and public humiliation that gets cut into 'gotchas' and 'destroy the libs' compilations is not an effective way to do this. A much more effective medium would be to sit down with them for a longer stretch of time and ask what they believe and why. To have them engage in actual exercises where they question their ideas with the goal of actually developing critical thinking skills. To ask them open leading questions that lead to them questioning their own ideas.
