East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service called to a tractor fire on the main road.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 12.20 on 22 December 2023 to Beachy Head Road, East Dean to reports of a tractor fire on the main road.
15 tonnes of hay and a trailer were alight which Crews are allowing it to burn in a controlled way, with a covering jet of water.

That really went up. Looks as though it started with hay bales on the trailer and then spread to the tractor.

It's good seeing the fire service just keeping warm on a cold winter day don't want to get their tools dirty and waste water, 😂😂

The tractor is gone and the trailer and load are beyond salvation. At this stage the brigades only function is to make sure the fire is contained

Looks like a rural area, there may not have been any hydrants or ponds in the area. Fire trucks do not hold unlimited water.
