Very nice tour thank you! I modified my HF dust distribution system to a dust collector! I changed out the impeller to a Rikon impeller that produces much more vacuum. I also added the filter. As well as the Oneida Super dust deputy My duct work is 5 inches dia. My blast gates are a home brew automatic system using the Arduino to sense what tool is powered and opens that blast gate and closes all the others. 😁🛫

Btw tip on your planer... Get this widest you can afford... The grizzly spiral planer is super super sweet. But out side of operation noise you won't see much difference between spiral or regular blades. Just keep the blades sharp. But the extra width is key

Glad I found a fellow North Carolinian. I am more intersted in your insulation for the building, you mentioned it did okay. It looks like the double bubble I've seen a lot of metal building companies use for ceiling and walls. I am getting ready to put up a similar building but in WNC. Any feedback is welcome. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for finding me! And yes it’s the stick insulation they offer. It does decent I have a mini split that keeps it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It does have to run all the time when I’m out there. If I had my time back I would do spray insulation…just my 2 cents 👍🏻

Wanting to buy some clamps durring the black Friday sales. Looking to get both parallel and f-style. From all the research I've done, Bessey is the way to go on the parallel clamps and jorgensen for the f-style. Could you recommend any sizes for specifically cabinet making? What have you found most useful? I'm hoping to get a bunch of just two sizes. Open to any suggestions. A detailed video on clamps would make a great video idea. especially since you plan to add more soon.
@eastcarolinawoodworks2 жыл бұрын
I like the clamp idea video! Definitely going to keep that in mind 👍🏻 and far as clamp sizes go I’d recommend getting 24-36” f style clamps. Parallel clamps I use mainly for cabinet doors and drawer fronts. I would also throw in a few 48-72” bar clamps when can cause those help with the bigger cabinets 😎

I was very glad to come across this shop tour as I have a very similarly constructed shop, only mine is 24'x25'. Other than that...same metal frame construction. I was going to ask about your insulation, but I saw you answered a couple of questions about that already. My question for you is how did you attach the wood panels in the rear of the shop? They seem to be plenty strong enough to hold cabinets and such. Did you have to reinforce them between the studs at all? Also, how did you hang the clamp rack? Great tour and keep up the good work!
@eastcarolinawoodworks2 жыл бұрын
It’s kind of hard to explain but I pretty much ran filler strips down the side of the metal posts that I left 3/4” from being flush. That way I was able to put shiplap up to be flush with the metal posts. Hope this helps! 👍🏻
@davidmartin9758 Жыл бұрын
Make different size wood "buckets" (like how your box around metal beams in basements) for your cutoffs, which will clean up the area and also organize them by size and looks awesome (stain each size a different color as well) Just some quick thoughts.

I have the same type building. How / what did you use to close up the gaps at the top of the vertical wall where it meets the ceiling? Also, i noticed you put insulation on your roll up doors. @@eastcarolinawoodworks I had an old piece worker put it into perspective for me after I broke up a fight between him and the forklift driver. The driver kept putting material an extra 15 foot away from the old guy. The old guy explained " That 15 feet. It's 15 steps. 1 step one second. Every 2 trips is a minute I'm working for free.... And I gotta make over 30 trips during the day. " That applies for looking for things too.
