Each decade, EastEnders chooses a handful of episodes that make us think about both the medium of television and the message it is conveying. Den & Ange in the 80s, Sharongate in the 90s, Dot's one-hander in the 00s and now this. For a soap opera that is nearing 40, we salute you.

WoW Phil has changed I was actually shocked to see him and Ian actually sitting down having a drink together, no bitching, threatening to flush Ian’s head down the toilet etc... it was actually nice seeing the two of them getting on and being nice to each other. And Kat’s “OH SHUT UP!” Had me doubled over in stitches laughing. I wasn’t expecting that, everyone was quite talking amongst themselves and Kat just yells “oh shut up” really loud at everyone and dragged out the “shut up” part. 💖🤣🤣🤣🤣💙 I thought everyone especially Ruby was brilliant in this scene/episode. As a recent victim myself a few months ago I want to do this, I want to stand on a rooftop and yell my rapist and abusers name at the top of my lungs! I’ve gone through the proper channels when I could finally escape my home where it happened! Watching this and speaking to other victims makes me feel like I’m growing stronger everyday, I was abused for years I was made to feel like I was no one, was isolated against my own will, made to feel like I had no one, this scum of a human being claimed he loved me but all I was to him was his own personal bank he took all my money I hadn’t had a bank card in years, I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere, he used my health problems, ptsd and anxiety against me, destroying my self confidence bit by bit until there was nothing left, used my service animal and had everything in his name to control me and make me do things I didn’t want to do, he’s broken me down so much and I can’t reveal his name until after the court case. All while he’s the one playing the victim telling everyone “i left him and he doesn’t know why, and I’ve broken his heart!” Claiming I’ve given him “ptsd and anxiety!” This is someone who I’ve loved since we was kids, and he’s always claimed he loved me. You don’t abuse the person who you claim to love, you don’t rape the person you claim to love. He actually sent me a message telling me what he was going to do to me when he got home and I just ignored it because he said he was “going to go to sleep for a bit first!” That normally means I’ll be asleep all day until the early hours in the next morning and by then I would have been fast asleep myself and he would have just left me alone. But he didn’t go to sleep. Telling me “I was his property and he can do whatever he wants to me because he owns me!” And he don’t care what I say he’s “not listening to anymore excuses or the word no!” I’ve got all these professional people around me, helping me but I feel so alone. Degrading me for years and I always said “I’d never be one of them women who says, but I love him!” And that’s exactly what he turned me into! I was so strong and stood up for what I believed in and he took all that away from me, turning me into an empty shell with nowhere to go and no one to turn too. I’m under police protection now, and I feel like I’ve gone from one prison being watched on secret cctv that he rigged up in our home without telling me and being locked in the house when he went out straight into another one with alarms everywhere, and locked doors even though I’ve got my own keys. So I’m glad that Eastenders are doing this storyline because it along with other victims that I speak too is starting to give me back my strength. Yes it’s in tiny bits at a time but I’m starting to slowly get my old self back. If there’s anyone in the same situation or still in an abusive relationship then feel free to contact me. I still need support but I’m also here to support anyone who needs it, male or female, we are not anyone’s property, no one owns us and it is not our fault despite what our abusers and/or rapists say. NO MEANS NO! Much love, prayers and support to all other victims female, male, teen girls, teen boys, older victims, children we are our own person not someones property, we have feelings too, and nobody has the right to hurt us in anyway they see fit! XoX 💖💙💖💙💖💙🙏🏼⭐️

JLP what you think child abuse, Domestic Abuse And Rape is a funny joke? Having someone who you love more than anything, who claims to love you back using your past to control you and get you to the point where you feel like you’re nothing and worthless because that’s what they’ve told you time and time again that you believe them, being kept a prisoner in the one place you’re meant to feel safe, being left destitute because they’ve taken full control of your bank accounts, telling you what to wear who you can speak too, using things to force you to do things against your will! And you think that’s a fucking lol joke???? You sick twisted fucker your parents must be so proud of you, raising you to think it’s okay to abuse and rape other people whether it’s a female, male or child, and I hope to god you don’t have a partner if you think that abusing and raping someone is one big joke and laughing matter! I pity you.
