The 1993-1994 rendition of Simon May's theme was the worst ever, glad they switched it back - this supposed to be a soap set in the East End of London, not in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Well, On 16 June 2020, Peter Beale actor Dayle Hudson leaked on his Instagram story that the soap would return to broadcast by 8 September 2020. Look up on Wikipedia

Not cancelled. EastEnders had to stop filming for months throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. It returned.
