Yeah I've often thought the same, especially considering he was so young and general knowledge of mental health issues was so basic back then!

At first I thought Joe's schizophrenia was quite hilarious over some strange and rather unusual behaviour, a bit of dark comedy if you ask me. But as time went on I steadily understood how serious the matter was and soon enough I no longer found it funny but rather disturbing. I mean it wasn't totally unsettling for me but I do find it rather tragic and impactful because in real-life schizophrenia is one kind of mental illness that you don't wish to endure seeing yourself or your loved ones contain. And when that happens your efforts to overcome or cure the illness can prove very challenging if not impossible, because you just don't know whether it's terminal or how long it lasts for. For me that would be one of the most scariest experiences to date. Quite frankly I'm glad I'm not somebody who has schizophrenia but I do prey that it's not something that I'd have to tackle. Because at first it can be strange but then it becomes harder to process the further it goes on.
