Fat Barry was a paramedic and then suddenly roys son not long after, could have at least pretended he lost the paramedic job but no different character entirely. Andy hunter was previously a yuppie love interest of sam in the early 90s then was ludicrously written in as a gangster in 03 and they even made him have a relationship with sam mitchell.
