When this show first started back in 1885, 25 years after Coronation Street, that during the time was still the number one popular soap, the critics said; Eastenders will never last, they gave it a year at the most. 2015 and 30 years later, it is still going strong, now a serious competitor with Coronation Street. My favourite character was Nick Cotton, the no good son of Dot. Knew we were in for some exciting episodes every time he reappeared in the Square. Gave up watching when Dennis Watts was resurrected from the dead and then it became unbelievable and stupid.
