Janine’s mother dying messed her up and she had a love/hate relationship with Pat and Frank was always disappearing. Basically Janine’s spent her whole life feeling angry at the world because of her awful childhood.

Even my boyfriend who don't watch the show said "oh damnnn" when Linda hissed i don't care 🤩 that was amazing talent in those few words .. Obviously she cares about the baby but in that one moment where seeing the life almost leave Janine she was ready for complete revenge .. Lucky her son was there to remind her of that mother instinct, she would never forgive herself!

Here’s an idea: Child walks in. Linda runs over - ushers him out whilst laughing slightly - tells him Shirley & Janine are “just being stupid”. Therefore giving Shirley more strangle time. Fucking Eastenders surely knows how to drag out those PAUSE - GASP - REACT pantomime-style moments. It dilutes any tension at all, and you’re instantly brought back to actual reality instead of enjoying the escapism for a moment. You can be sure anything that happens in Eastenders is just pathetic and isn’t worth watching. Back in late 90’s / early 00’s it was AMAZING. Decent characters, storylines, episodes that kept you on your toes. Nowadays it’s just taking the piss out of itself 😳
